D. Absolute zero

Because it is not possible to reach a value of absolute zero as not only would it infringe the Second Law of Thermodynamics but also require infinite number of observations which is impossible

A piston raises a weight, then lowers it again to its original height. If the process the system follows as the piston rises is
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

Negative

Explanation:

First law of thermodynamic also known as the law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system is constant; energy can be transformed from one form to another, but can be neither created nor destroyed.

The first law relates relates changes in internal energy to heat added to a system and the work done by a system by the conservation of energy.

The first law is mathematically given as ΔU  = U_{F} - U_{0} = Q - W

Where Q = Quantity of heat

            W = Work done

From the first law The internal energy has the symbol U. Q is positive if heat is added to the system, and negative if heat is removed; W is positive if work is done by the system, and negative if work is done on the system.

Analyzing the pistol when it raises in isothermal and when it falls in isobaric state.The following can be said:

In the Isothermal compression of a gas there is work done on the system to decrease the volume and increase the pressure. For work to be done on the system it is a negative work done then.

In the Isobaric State An isobaric process occurs at constant pressure. Since the pressure is constant, the force exerted is constant and the work done is given as PΔV.If a gas is to expand at a constant pressure, heat should be transferred into the system at a certain rate.Isobaric is a fuction of heat which is Isothermal Provided the pressure is kept constant.

In Isobaric definition above it can be seen that " Heat should be transferred into the system ata certain rate. For heat to be transferred into the system work is deinitely been done on the system thereby favouring the negative work done.

What is the result of two displacement vectors having opposite directions?
jonny [76]

Answer:

Resultant of two vectors having opposite direction is the difference of the two displacements having the same direction as the larger vector.

Explanation:

Resultant of two vectors is obtained by performing the vector addition operation. When the directions of both vectors are same the resultant’s direction will also be the same as the inputs. When two vectors have opposite directions, one direction will be taken positive making one vector positive and the other negative.

By performing addition of a positive and negative number we are actually taking the difference between both. Thus performing vector addition of two vectors with opposite directions is equivalent to finding the difference between the vectors. Consider a system consisting of a solid block, on which two forces F1 and F2 act in the opposite direction.

One force will be considered positive and the other is considered negative. The resultant is given by the difference of two force vectors. Displacement of the block will be in the direction of the greater force.

A truck is moving with a certain uniform velocity. It is accelerated uniformly by 0.75 m/s^2. After 20 seconds , the velocity be
scoundrel [369]

Answer:

Vi = 5 m/s

Explanation:

let (a) acceleration = 0.75 m/s²

(t) time = 20 seconds

Vf = final velocity = 72 km/hr  (convert to m/s to units consistency = 20 m/s)

find Initial velocity (Vi)

       Vf - Vi

a =  -----------

             t

Vi = Vf - (a * t)  = 20 - (0.75 * 20)

Vi = 5 m/s

What is the current when the voltage is 18 volts and the resistance is 6 ohms?
juin [17]
Voltage = current(I) * resistance (R)
V = 18
R = 6

18 = I * 6
I = 18/6 = 3 Amps or D
