A sample of an ideal gas at 1.00 bar and a volume of 1.59 l was placed in a weighted balloon and dropped into the ocean. as the

sample descended, the water pressure compressed the balloon and reduced its volume. when the pressure had increased to 80.0 bar, what was the volume of the sample? assume that the temperature was held constant.

Le us discuss how we should approach this problem. We know that there are two states. The first state is when P₁ = 1 bar and V₁ = 1.59 L. The second state is when P₂ = 80 bar. We are asked to find V₂. At constant temperature, we use Boyle's Law.

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂
V₂ = P₁V₁/P₂ = (1 bar)(1.59 L)/(80 bar)
V₂ = 0.02 L

Each cubic centimeter of gold has a mass of 19.3 g. A cube of gold measures 4.23 cm on each edge. (a) What is the volume of the
aivan3 [116]

Answer: The volume of the gold is 75.68g/cm^3

The mass of gold is 19.3 g

The density of gold is 0.25g/cm^3

Explanation:

Density is defined as the mass contained per unit volume.

Density=\frac{mass}{Volume}

Given : Mass of gold = 19.3 grams

To calculate the volume of cube, we use the equation:

V=a^3

where,

V = volume of cube

a = edge of cube

Volume of gold = (4.23cm)^3=75.68cm^3

Putting values in above equation, we get:

Putting in the values we get:

Density=\frac{19.3g}{75.68cm^3}=0.25g/cm^3

Thus density of gold will be 0.25g/cm^3

What happens to the ancient calendar during the winter and summer solstices
iris [78.8K]

During the winter solstices, we experience the longest day and the shortest night while during the summer solstices the sun is at its highest point in the sky.

What is the Solsticest?

The Solstices is the season that occurs at the moment the earth's tilt toward or from the sun is at a maximum. There are two seasons of Solstices which include the following:

 • The winter solstices: This occurs when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn causing us to have the shortest day and longest night of the year.

 • The summer solstices: The sun is at its highest elevations.
