In 60 minutes or 3600 seconds, the tip of the minute hand traverses the circumference of a circle with radius 3.00 cm, so it moves with a tangential speed of

(3.00 cm)/(3600 s) ≈ 0.00083 cm/s = 8.3 μm/s

How does a distance-time graph show you which direction the runner is moving? Use your own words and science vocabulary.
Dmitry [639]

In a distance time graph, when the x and y values are positive (in first quadrant), the runner is moving forward.

While, if the distance value ( in the y axis) is negative, the runner is moving backwards ( towards the start) .

Hope it helps :)

SOUND IS A FORM OF WAVE.LIST AT LEAST 3 REASONS TO SUPPORT IDEA THAT SOUND IS A WAVE.
algol [13]
1 The question asks for a certain quantity of examples in a list (Name 6 factors that contributed to the start of World War I, What 3 subatomic particles constitute an atom? etc).
2 The question is academically precise and, therefore, indecisive in the wording (What are the 2 kinds of loading most professional engineers and academics in the field of engineering today generally consider to be relevant in most cases when considering typical types of structure usually made of common materials using well-understand methods?)
3 The question challenges the answerer to defend a position as opposed to merely rattling off a list based on knowledge alone, thereby invoking higher levels of Bloom's Taxonomy. (What are 4 arguments that could be used to defend arguments made by the physicists of the day that electromagnetic waves must move through an illusive substance called 'the ether?)

A football is kicked from the ground with a velocity of 38m/s at an angle of 40 degrees and eventually lands at the same height.
Anastasy [175]

Initially, the velocity vector is \langle 38cos(40^{\circ}),38sin(40^{\circ}) \rangle=\langle 29.110, 24.426 \rangle. At the same height, the x-value of the vector will be the same, and the y-value will be opposite (assuming no air resistance). Assuming perfect reflection off the ground, the velocity vector is the same. After 0.2 seconds at 9.8 seconds, the y-value has decreased by 4.9(0.2)^2, so the velocity is \langle 29.110, 24.426-0.196 \rangle = \langle 29.110, 24.23 \rangle.

Converting back to direction and magnitude, we get \langle r,\theta \rangle=\langle \sqrt{29.11^2+24.23^2},tan^{-1}(\frac{29.11}{24.23}) \rangle = \langle 37.87,50.2^{\circ}\rangle
