A car takes 9 m to stop after the driver applies the brakes.

Depends upon how soon you want to stop. You know the mass of the car, you know the initial velocity of 8.9 m/s. You know the final velocity which is zero. You can now calculate the deceleration of the car if you know how soon you want to stop.

Let's say you want to stop in one second.

a = (vf - vi) / t = - 8.9 m/s^2 (negative sign indicates deceleration).

F = ma = 800 x 8.9 = 7120 Newtons (kg*m/s^2)

The spectrum of light from the moon should very strongly resemble the spectrum of sunlight. The reason is that any light from the moon started out from the sun. Any difference in their spectra is only due to the moon absorbing more of some wavelengths and less of others. But since the moon appears colorless gray, we don't expect any particular colors to be strongly absorbed, otherwise the moon would look to be the colors of the light that's left.

Which is the best insulator? metal, glass, plastic, or Styrofoam?
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

Styrofoam would be the best insulator because it traps the air in small pockets, blocking the flow of heat energy.

Rainfall occurs on the earth due to effect of gravity

Answer:

         True

  • Because Gravity is the force of attraction between two objects, and Earth's gravity pulls matter downward, toward its center. It pulls precipitation down from clouds and pulls water downhill. Gravity also moves air and ocean water. ... Gravity pulls denser air and water downward, forcing less dense air and water to move upward.

The centripetal acceleration a is 4.32 \times 10^-4 m/s^2.

Explanation:

The speed is constant and computing the speed from the distance and time for one full lap.

Given, distance = 400 mm = 0.4 m,       Time = 100 s.

Computing the v = 0.4 m / 100 s

                         v = 4 \times 10^-3 m/s.

radius of the circular end r = 37 mm = 0.037 m.

            centripetal acceleration a = v^2 / r

                                                        = (4 \times 10^-3)^2 / 0.037

                                                    a = 4.32 \times 10^-4 m/s^2.

1. Identify which of the following will not increase the current induced in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field. a. incr
djyliett [7]

Answer:

Rotating the loop until it is perpendicular to the field

Explanation:

Current is induced in a conductor when there is a change in magnetic flux.

The strength of the induced current in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field can be increased or decreased by the following methods:

By increasing the strength of the magnetic field there will be increased in the induced current. If the strength of the magnetic field is decreased then there is a decrease in induced current.

By increasing the speed of the wire there will be increased in the induced current. When the speed of the wire is decreased then there is a decrease in induced current.

By increasing the number of turns of the coil the strength of the induced current can be increased. when there is less number of turns in coils then there is a decrease in induced current.

Rotating the loop until it is perpendicular to the field will not increase the current induced in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field.

Therefore, the option is (c) is correct.
