The attractive electrostatic force between the point charges +8.44 ✕ 10-6 and q has a magnitude of 0.961 n when the separation b
d1i1m1o1n [39]
The electrostatic force between two charges Q1 and q is given by
F=k_e  \frac{Q_1 q}{r^2}
where
ke is the Coulomb's constant
Q1 is the first charge
q is the second charge
r is the distance between the two charges

Re-arranging the formula, we have
q= \frac{F r^2}{k_e Q_1}
and since we know the value of the force F, of the charge Q1 and the distance r between the two charges, we can calculate the value of q:
q= \frac{(0.961 N)(0.67 m)^2}{(8.99 \cdot 10^9 N m^2 C^{-2})(+8.44\cdot 10^{-6}C)}=5.69 \cdot 10^{-6} C

And since the force is attractive, the two charges must have opposite sign, so the charge q must have negative sign.

Salt is now added to the water in the bucket, increasing the density of the liquid. what happens to the tension in the string ?
AlexFokin [52]

The question involves a ping-pong ball that is held submerged in a bucket by a string attached to the bottom of the bucket.

The answer is the tension of the string will increase. This is because making the water salty increases its density, and consequently, increases its buoyancy. This is why sea water is more buoyant than fresh water. Therefore the ping pong is pushed more upwards by the water when salt is added than initially. This gives the string more tension.

A satellite, moving in an elliptical orbit, is 368 km above Earth's surface at its farthest point and 164 km above at its closes
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

a) 6636 km

b) 0.0154

Explanation:

The height above the earth at its furthest point is 368 km

The height above the earth at its closest point is 164 km

Radius of the Earth is 6370 km

The distance of the satellite from the center of the earth to the furthest point is 6370 + 368 km = 6738 km

The distance of the satellite from the center of the earth to the closest point is 6370 + 164 = 6534 km

If we add together the sum of the distance of the satellite from the furthest and its closest distance, it is equal to the 2 major semi axis.

Basically,

2a = R + r

a = (R + r) / 2

a = (6738 + 6534) / 2

a = 13272 / 2

a = 6636 km

Eccentricity, e = (a - r) / a

Eccentricity, e = (6636 - 6534) / 6636

Eccentricity, e = 102 / 6636

Eccentricity, e = 0.0154

The magnetic lines of force always travel from north to south true or false
kumpel [21]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Magnetic field lines outside of a permanent magnet always run from the north magnetic pole to the south magnetic pole. Therefore, the magnetic field lines of the earth run from the southern geographic hemisphere towards the northern geographic hemisphere.
