When the Moon passes between Sun and Earth, the lunar shadow is seen as a solar eclipse on Earth. When Earth passes directly between Sun and Moon, its shadow creates a lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses can happen only when the Moon is opposite the Sun in the sky, a monthly occurrence we know as a full Moon.

A solar eclipse is shown because the moon is blocking the sun's rays.

Hello there.

1.986*10^6

10^6=1,000,000

1.986*1,000,000

Answer=1,986,000

Explanation: First you had to ten to the six power of the ten with six times. It gave us 1000000 should be have six zeros at any time. Then you can multiply by 1.986*1000000=1,986,000 is the right answer. Hope this helps! Thank you for posting your question at here on Brainly. -Charlie

A 975-kg elevator accelerates upward at 0.754 m/s2, pulled by a cable of negligible mass. Find the tension force in the cable.
Zina [86]

To solve this problem we will apply the concepts of equilibrium and Newton's second law.

According to the description given, it is under constant ascending acceleration, and the balance of the forces corresponding to the tension of the rope and the weight of the elevator must be equal to said acceleration. So

\sum F = ma

T-mg = ma

Here,

T = Tension

m = Mass

g = Gravitational Acceleration

a = Acceleration (upward)

Rearranging to find T,

T = m(g+a)

T = (975)(9.8+0.754)

T= 10290.15N

Therefore the tension force in the cable is 10290.15N

What is the speed of a wave if the wavelength is 3 meters and the frequency is 200hz
RideAnS [48]
Wave speed = frequency * wavelength

Input the numbers into this equation :

Wave speed = 200 * 3

Work it out and you will get the answer :

Wave speed = 600 m/s

Joe first focuses his attention (and his eyes) on the tree. The focal length of the cornea-lens system in his eye must be ______
kotykmax [81]

Answer: The focal length of the cornea-lens system in his eye must be LESS THAN the distance between the front and back of his eye.

Explanation:

The human eye the front part of the eye is the CORNEA. This is the tough white transparent part of the eye that helps in the refraction of light rays. While the backside of the eye is the RETINA. This is the part of the eye when images are focused.

When a normal eye is at rest, parallel rays from a distant object are focused on the retina. The ability of the eye - lens to focus points at different distances on the retina is known as accomodation. The adjustment of the eye lens to focus objects of varying distances is brought about by the ciliary muscles. The have the ability to change the shape of the eye which leads to change in focal length.

When a person with normal vision looks at a distant object at infinity, the lens brings parallel rays to focus on the retina. Thus, the furthest point which the eye can see distinctly is called the far point of the eye and it's infinity for a normal eye. But Joe was able to focus his eye on the tree, meaning that the tree was within his near point. This is the nearest point at which an object is clearly seen. Therefore, when the effective focal length of the cornea-lens system changes, it changes the location of the image of any object in one's field of view.
