The second condition necessary to achieve equilibrium involves avoiding accelerated rotation (maintaining a constant angular velocity. A rotating body or system can be in equilibrium if its rate of rotation is constant and remains unchanged by the forces acting on it.

a)Show that whennbecomes very large, the energy levels of the hydrogen atom are getting closer to energy.b)Are the rays of these
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

Answered

Explanation:

Energy of electron in  hydrogen atom is given by

E_n= \frac{13.6}{n^2}

now as becomes large

ΔE= E_n+1 - E_n= 18.6 eV(1/n^2- 1/(n+1)^2)

now, as n increases ΔE_n decreases

in the limit n→∞ ,  ΔE_n→0. Thus with increase in n, energy level come close to each other.

b) Since, the wavelength of the rays depends upon the energy level hence they too come closer.

c)Near the ionization threshold the energy level of the atoms come closer and the total energy of the electron becomes almost so that it can be easily removed from the orbit.
