The {{\text{H}}^+} concentration of vinegar solution is \boxed{{\text{0}}{\text{.0000708 M}}}

Further Explanation:

An acid is a substance that has the ability to donate {{\mathbf{H}}^{\mathbf{+}}}ions or can accept electrons from the electron-rich species. The general dissociation reaction of acid is as follows:

{\text{HA}}\to{{\text{H}}^+}+{{\text{A}}^-}

Here, HA is an acid.

The acidic strength of an acid can be determined by pH value. The negative logarithm of hydronium ion concentration is defined as pH of the solution. Lower the pH value of an acid, the stronger will be the acid. Acidic solutions are likely to have pH less than 7. Basic or alkaline solutions have pH more than 7. Neutral solutions have pH equal to 7.

Vinegar contains acetic acid \left({{\text{C}}{{\text{H}}_3}{\text{COOH}}}\right), water and some traces of other chemicals and flavors.

The formula to calculate pH is as follows:

{\text{pH}}=-{\text{log}}\left[{{{\text{H}}^+}}\right]                                   …… (1)

Here,

\left[{{{\text{H}}^+}}\right] is hydrogen ion concentration.

On rearranging equation (1), we get:

\left[{{{\text{H}}^+}}\right]={10^{-{\text{pH}}}}                                           …… (2)

The pH of vinegar is 4.15.

Substitute 4.15 for pH in equation (2)

\begin{gathered}\left[{{{\text{H}}^+}}\right]={10^{-4.15}}\\=0.0000707946\\\approx0.0000708\;{\text{M}}\\\end{gathered}

So the concentration of {{\mathbf{H}}^{\mathbf{+}}} ion in vinegar is 0.0000708 M.

<span>The pH of a vinegar solution is 4.15. To find the H+ concentration of the solution use the following equation -log(H+)=pH. Insert the pH into the equation to get, -log(H+) = 4.15 Rearrange the equation to get, 10^(-4.15) = H+ Finally, you can solve for H+. The hydrogen ion concentration of the vinegar solution is .0000708 M.</span>

A chemistry student weighs out 0.09666 g of phosphoric acid (H3PO4), a triprotic acid, into a 250.volumetric flask and dilutes t
Ber [7]

Answer: 14.62 ml

Explanation:

Molarity is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved per liter of the solution.

Molarity=\frac{n\times 1000}{V_s}

where,

n= moles of solute

V_s = volume of solution in ml = 250 ml

{\text {moles of solute}=\frac{\text {given mass}}{\text {molar mass}}=\frac{0.09666g}{98g/mol}=9.9\times 10^{-4}

Now put all the given values in the formula of molarity, we get

Molarity=\frac{9.9\times 10^{-4}\times 1000}{250ml}

Molarity=3.9\times 10^{-3}M

To calculate the volume of base, we use the equation given by neutralization reaction:

n_1M_1V_1=n_2M_2V_2

where,

n_1,M_1\text{ and }V_1 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of acid which is H_3PO_4

n_2,M_2\text{ and }V_2 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of base which is NaOH.

We are given:

n_1=3\\M_1=3.9\times 10^{-3}M\\V_1=250mL\\n_2=1\\M_2=0.2000M\\V_2=?

Putting values in above equation, we get:

3\times 3.9\times 10^{-3}\times 250=1\times 0.2000\times V_2\\\\V_2=14.62ml

Thus the volume of NaOH solution the student will need to add to reach the final equivalence point is 14.62 ml
