By calculation, the diameter of the wire  is 2.8 * 10^-3 m.

<h3>How do we obtain the length?</h3>

The following data are given in the question;

Mass of the wire = 1.0 g or 1 * 10^-3 Kg

Resistance = 0.5 ohm

Resistivity of copper = 1.7 * 10^-8 ohm meter

Density of copper = 8.92 * 10^3 Kg/m^3

V = m/d

But v = Al

Al = m/d

A = m/ld

Resistance = ρl/A

= ρl/m/ld =

l^2 = Rm/ρd

l = √ Rm/ρd

l = √0.5 * 1 * 10^-3 / 1.7 * 10^-8 * 8.92 * 10^3

l = 1.82 m

A = πr^2

Also;

A = m/ld

A = 1 * 10^-3 Kg / 1.82 m * 8.92 * 10^3 Kg/m^3

Area of the wire = 6.2 * 10^-5 m^2

r^2 = A/ π

r = √A/ π

r = √6.2 * 10^-5 m^2/3.142

r = 1.4 * 10^-3 m

Diameter = 2r = 2( 1.4 * 10^-3 m) = 2.8 * 10^-3 m

Imagine a simple pendulum swinging in an elevator. If the cable holding the elevator up was to snap, allowing the elevator to go
Lady_Fox [76]

One of the components that affect the period is gravity (the other is length). This gravity is basically the value of the effective acceleration that acts on the body due to gravity. When the elevator is over free fall, the effective gravity becomes zero. Mathematically this can be visualized as,

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{\dot{g_{eff}}}}

Since this value is zero, the period would tend to be infinite,

T \rightarrow \infty

Therefore the frequency that is inversely proportional to the period would be defined as

f = \frac{1}{T}

f = \frac{1}{\infty}

f \approx 0

In this way there is no frequency on the body which will not generate any oscillation on the body

A toy gun uses a spring to project a 5.9-g soft rubber sphere horizontally. The spring constant is 8.0 N/m, the barrel of the gu
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

Explanation:

Stored energy in spring = 1/2 k x² , k is spring constant , x is compression.

= 1/2 x 8 x (5.7 x 10⁻²)²

= 129.96 x 10⁻⁴ J

Energy lost due to friction = force x distance

= .035 x .17

= .00595 J

Energy used in providing kinetic energy to projectile.

129.96 x 10⁻⁴  - .00595

.012996 - .00595

= .007046 J

So

1/2 m v² = .007046

v² = .007046  x 2 / .0059

= 2.3885

v = 1.545 m /s
