(a) W=217 J is the amount of mechanical work done by engine during each cycle.

(b) temperature of the low-pressure reservoir Tc=378K

(c) thermal efficiency of the cycle (e)=0.39=39%

Calculation:

For part (a)

We need to calculate the mechanical work W the engine does.

W = IQHI — IQcl  .....................eq(1)

Putting the given values of QH and QC into eq(1) we get

the mechanical work of the engine W

W = 550 - 335

W=217 J

For part (b)

We need to determine the temperature of low temperature reservoir Tc

IQc|/|Qh| =TC/TH

for Tc

Tc=(IQc|/|Qh|)*TH

Now putting the values, we get

Tc= 620K  (335/ 550.1)

Tc=378K

For part (c)

We need to find the thermal efficiency (e) of the cycle

e=1-TC/TH

e=1-(378/620)

e=0.39=39%

<h3>What is mechanical energy?</h3>

The energy that an object possesses as a result of its motion or position is known as mechanical energy. Kinetic energy, or the energy of motion, and potential energy are two types of mechanical energy (stored energy of position).

A car moves at 20 m s' for 15 minutes. Calculate the distance travelled
Firdavs [7]

Explanation:

Calculating this according to the m/s rate

Now solving the question

If the car goes 20 m/s mathematically we can generate it as

15 × 60 = 600 secs

If the car goes 20 meters per every second it means

The car will go 20 meters for 900 secs

Which is 900 ×20 = 18000m/s

=18000÷1000 = 1km

Therefore the answer is 18km

In her hand, a softball pitcher swings a ball of mass 0.245 kg around a vertical circular path of radius 59.8 cm before releasin
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

The velocity is v_b = 20.17 \ m/s

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The mass of the ball is  m = 0.245 \ kg

   The radius is  r =  59.8 \  cm  =  0.598 \ m

   The force is  F =  30.9 \ N

   The speed of the ball is  v = 16.0 \ m/s.

Generally the kinetic energy at the top of the circle is mathematically represented as

    K_t  =  \frac{1}{2} *  m  *  v^2

=> K_t  =  \frac{1}{2} *  0.245   *  16.0 ^2

=> K_t  =  31.36 \ J

Generally the work done by the force applied on the ball from the top to the bottom  is mathematically represented as

       W =  F *  d

Here  d is the length of  a semi - circular arc which is mathematically represented as

       d =  \pi * r

So

      W =  30.9 *  0.598

      W = 18.48 \ J

Generally the kinetic energy at the bottom is mathematically represented as

      K_b  =  \frac{1}{2} *  m *  v_b^2

=>    K_b  =  \frac{1}{2} *  0.245  *  v_b^2

=>   K_b  =  0.1225  *  v_b^2

From the law of energy conservation

     K_t +  W  =K_b

=>    31.36+  18.48 = 0.1225  *  v_b^2

=>    v_b = 20.17 \ m/s

Give an example of an animal that has adapted to its environment.
alex41 [277]
The most basic and perhaps powerful example is the fin-tailed fish, whose powerful tail is crucial for mobility, agility, and speed underwater. These adaptations have been underway for millions of years.
