<span>A star is born as a main sequence star when the temperature of the star's core becomes high enough to fuse hydrogen into helium. ... The story is different in evolved stars like giant stars. Once hydrogen in the core of the star is exhausted, the energy generation becomes small and the core starts to collapse. Hope this helps.</span>

When a star is born it is a main sequence  when the temperature of the star's core becomes high enough to fuse hydrogen into helium. The giant stars are the adult ones, it has a larger radius and luminosity than a main-sequence star. The giant star is the aging process of the star.

A 170 kg astronaut (including space suit) acquires a speed of 2.25 m/s by pushing off with his legs from a 2600 kg space capsule
saw5 [17]

Explanation:

Mass of the astronaut, m₁ = 170 kg

Speed of astronaut, v₁ = 2.25 m/s

mass of space capsule, m₂ = 2600 kg

Let v₂ is the speed of the space capsule. It can be calculated using the conservation of momentum as :

initial momentum = final momentum

Since, initial momentum is zero. So,

m_1v_1+m_2v_2=0

170\ kg\times 2.25\ m/s+2600\ kg\times v_2=0

v_2=-0.17\ m/s

So, the change in speed of the space capsule is 0.17 m/s. Hence, this is the required solution.

Five wheels are connected as shown in the figure. Find the velocity of the block “Q”, if it is known that: RA= 5 [m], RB= 10 [m]
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

-5 m/s

Explanation:

The linear velocity of B is equal and opposite the linear velocity of E.

vB = -vE

vB = -ωE rE

10 m/s = -ωE (12 m)

ωE = -0.833 rad/s

The angular velocity of E is the same as the angular velocity of D.

ωE = ωD

ωD = -0.833 rad/s

The linear velocity of Q is the same as the linear velocity of D.

vQ = vD

vQ = ωD rD

vQ = (-0.833 rad/s) (6 m)

vQ = -5 m/s

A square current-carrying loop is placed in a uniform magnetic field B with the plane of the loop parallel to the magnetic field
Radda [10]

Answer:

(A) a net torque but no net force on the loop.

Explanation:

The total force on the loop is zero because the forces on the opposite sides of the loop are equal but act in opposite directions and as a result they cancel each other out. The two forces on opposite sides to the axis of rotation each give rise to a torque about the axis of rotation. This torque is directed along the axis of rotation.

A meteoroid is moving towards a planet. It has mass m = 0.78×109 kg and speed v1 = 4.1×107 m/s at distance R1 = 2.8×107 m from t
wariber [46]

Answer:

PE=81.755\, J

Explanation:

Given that:

  • mass of meteoroid, m=7.8\times 10^8 \,kg
  • radial distance from the center of the planet, R= 2.8\times 10^7 m
  • mass of the planet, M=4.4\times 10^{25}\, kg

<u>For gravitational potential energy we have:</u>

PE=G\frac{M.m}{R}

substituting the respective values:

PE=6.67\times 10^{-11}\times \frac{4.4\times 10^{25}\times 7.8\times 10^8}{2.8\times 10^7}

PE=81.755\, J
