Magnesium (Mg) belongs to group II A in the periodic table with atomic number = 12

Mg Electron configuration = 1s²2S²2p⁶3s²

Nitrogen (N) belongs to group V A in the periodic table with atomic number = 7

N electron configuration= 1s²2s²2p³

Valence electrons for Mg = 2

Valence electrons for N = 5

Mg loses 2 electrons and N gains 3 electrons to complete its octet

Thus, the Formula unit when Mg and N bond is Mg₃N₂

A 21.0 kg child is running at a velocity of 2.50 m/s. The child is carrying a 2.25 kg gallon of milk. What is the momentum of th
KIM [24]

Answer: The momentum of the child and milk together is 58.125 kg.m/s

Explanation:

Momentum is defined as the product of object's mass and velocity.

Mathematically,

p=mv

where, p = momentum

m = mass of the object

v = velocity of the object

In the given question, we are given that a child of mass 21.0 kg is carrying a gallon of milk having mass 2.25 kg and running with a velocity of 2.5 m/s. Hence, the momentum by both milk and child will be:

p=(m_{child}+m_{milk})v     ....(1)

Given:

m_{child}=21.0kg\\m_{milk}=2.25kg\\v=2.5m/s\\p=?kg.m/s

Putting values in equation 1, we get:

p=(21+2.25)kg\times 2.5m/s=58.125kg.m/s

Hence, the momentum of the child and milk together is 58.125 kg.m/s

olga55 [171]

Addition of boiled, deionized water to the titrating flask to wash the wall of the erlenmeyer flask and the buret tip will have no effect on the Ksp value of ca(oh)2.

There will be no effect on the Ksp value as boiled deionised water is not able to alter the number of hydronium and hydroxide ions. As no change in the ions happen so there will be no change in Ksp value. The equilibrium constant for a solid material dissolving in an aqueous solution is the solubility product constant, Ksp. It stands for the degree of solute dissolution in solution. A substance's Ksp value increases with how soluble it is.

Which substance, when dissolved in water, forms a solution that conducts an electric current?
Margarita [4]
Missing question:
(1) C2H5OH (3) C12H22O11
(2) C6H12O6 (4) CH3COOH.

Answer is: 4) CH₃COOH, acetic acid.
In water, acetic acid dissociates on ions, so it can conduct electricity:
CH₃COOH(aq) ⇄ CH₃COO⁻(aq) + H⁺(aq).
When we put electrodes (cathode and anode) in acetic acid solution, positive and negative ions migrate to electrodes.
Negative acetate ions go to positive electrode and gives electrons to electrode.
Positive hydrogen ions go to negative electrode and gain electrons.
