Magnesium (Mg) belongs to group II A in the periodic table with atomic number = 12

Mg Electron configuration = 1s²2S²2p⁶3s²

Nitrogen (N) belongs to group V A in the periodic table with atomic number = 7

N electron configuration= 1s²2s²2p³

Valence electrons for Mg = 2

Valence electrons for N = 5

Mg loses 2 electrons and N gains 3 electrons to complete its octet

Thus, the Formula unit when Mg and N bond is Mg₃N₂

A or B i need help fast
Bezzdna [24]

Answer: I would go with B

Explanation: The motor in a circuit isn't moving. That's very vague, but it doesn't show any evidence that an electrical current is going through it, likewise it doesn't show that an electrical current ISN'T going through it. However in regards to this question I would go with B.

Even though so much energy is required to form a metal cation with a 2+ charge, the alkaline earth metals form halides with gene
nasty-shy [4]

The ∆Hrxn of the reaction is -394.5kJ/mol.

What is alkaline earth metal?

The alkaline earth metals are those elements which correspond to group 2 of the modern periodic table.

All elements of this group forms a cation of +2 charge.

The other elements of this group are:

Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium, and Radium.

What is Halogen?

The Halogen elements are present in group 17 of the modern periodic table.

All elements of this groups forms anions of -1 charge.

The elements of this group are:

Fluorine, Chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine.

∆Hrxn = ∆H(bond broken) - ∆H(bond formed)

We have following data of bond energy in kJ/mol:

Mg—Mg = 738

Cl—Cl = -349

Mg—Cl = 783.5

Since, one mole of Mg react with one mole of Cl atom to form one mole of MgCl

∆Hrxn = 738-349-783.5

∆Hrxn = -394.5kJ/mol.

Thus, we concluded that the ∆Hrxn of the reaction is -394.5kJ/mol.

The equation most often associated with Newton's Second Law of Motion is
nignag [31]

Answer:

F = ma or Force = mass x acceleration.

Explanation:

Newtons second law is about the force put onto an object. To find this you would use the formula:

Force is equal to mass times acceleration (F=ma)

What would be the voltage (Ecell) of a voltaic cell comprised of Cd(s)/Cd2+(aq) and Zr(s)/Zr4+(aq) if the concentrations of the
lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

1.05 V

Explanation:

Since;

E°cell= E°cathode- E°anode

E°cathode= -0.40 V

E°anode= -1.45 V

E°cell= -0.40-(-1.45) = 1.05 V

Equation of the process;

2Zr(s) + 4Cd^2+(aq) ---->2Zr^4+(aq) + 4Cd(s)

n= 8 electrons transferred

From Nernst's equation;

Ecell = E°cell - 0.0592/n log Q

Ecell= E°cell - 0.0592/8 log [0.5]/[0.5]

Since log 1=0

Ecell= E°cell= 1.05 V
