Elements in Period 2 such as Barium and Beryllium can lose up to two electrons when they react, however Boron can lose up to three electrons when it reacts which causes it to break the pattern normally seen in Period 2.

Answer;

because its a metalloid and the rest are all metals

Explanation;

 • Boron is a non metallic element and the only non-metal of the group 13 and a member of period 2 of the periodic table the elements. It is a metalloid as it posses both metallic and non-metallic characteristics.
 • Boron's reactivity is comparable to that of other elements in group 13 at very high temperatures. Unlike Boron, the metals in the group are good conductors under normal conditions. Boron is a good conductor only at high temperatures.
 • Beryllium and lithium are metals and unlike boron they react by loosing electrons. Beryllium reacts by loosing two electrons while lithium reacts by loosing one valence electrons.

Difference between fluids and nonfluids
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

All liquids are fluids but not all fluids are liquids. Fluids basically describe anything that can flow as a result of a difference in pressure between two points. Liquids on the other hand are a subset of fluids. Liquids are the incompressible fluids. These are the fluids who's density does not change sharply with pressure.

Gases are also fluids, they form the compressible fluids. They do flow as a result of difference in pressure between two points but at the same time they can be compressed or expanded. Their density fluctuates with pressure.

Hence fluids consist of 2 mutually exclusive groups of compressible and incompressible fluids. Liquids are the incompressible fluids and hence form a subset of the more general term fluid.

Recall all the models you described in task 1. Think about the results each model would predict for the experiment with hydrogen
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

Rutherford's theory laid the foundation upon which Bohr's model is founded. Rutherford established the fact that at the center of the atom, there is a nucleus whose radius is smaller than the radius of the atom. This nucleus is positively charged and most of the mass of the atom is concentrated there. Electrons move round this nucleus in orbits.

The experimental evidences of the Bohr's model shows that Rutherford's model was fundamentally correct. However, Bohr's model introduced the idea of quantization of the energy of electrons in an atom. The model went further to explain the spectra lines of the hydrogen atom.
