The answer is conduction. There are three mechanisms of heat transference: conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction is the transference of heat between layers (particles) in direct contact; it is due to the vibration of the atoms that form the substances. Convection takes place in fluids (gases and liquids) and is due to the translation (motion) of the fluid, this is hot masses of the fluid translate and replaces cold masses. Radiation is the transmission of heat due to electromagnetic waves and do not require a medium (conduction and convection transfers through a medium): the Sun heats the Earth by radiation.

S A voltage ΔV is applied to a series configuration of n resistors, each of resistance R. The circuit components are reconnected
Flura [38]

The power of is series combination is Vn^2 times that of a parallel combination.

For series combination :

Req = R + R + R + ............... n times = nR

I = Δv/nr

Power = (Δv/nr)^2 × nr = Δv^2/nr

For parallel combination

1/req = 1/R + 1/R + 1/R +................(n times) = n/R

Req = R/n

Power = Δv/(R/n) = nΔv^2/R

Ratio = Δv^2/nr/n·Δv^2/R = 1/n^2

Hence, power of is series combination is Vn^2 times that of a parallel.

Blake is setting up his tent at a renaissance fair. If the tent is 8 feet tall and the tether can be staked no more than 2 feet
Mariana [72]
The stake, height and tether length of the tent form a right angle triangle where the tether length is the hypotenuse.
Applying Pythagoras theorem:
length² = height² + (stake distance)²
length = √(8² + 2²)
length = 8.5 feet

An oil slick on water is 120 nm thick and illuminated by white light incident perpendicular to its surface. What color does the
gregori [183]

Answer:

\lambda = 672 nm

so this is nearly red colour light

Explanation:

As we know that the interference of light from reflected light then the path difference is given as

\Delta x = 2\mu t + \frac{\lambda}{2}

now we know that for constructive interference of light the path difference is given as

\Delta x = n\lambda

so we will have

2\mu t + \frac{\lambda}{2} = N\lambda

so we will have

4\mu t = \lambda

\lambda = 2(1.40)(120nm)

\lambda = 672 nm

so this is nearly red colour light

Bob is pushing a box across the floor at a constant speed of 1.7 m/s, applying a horizontal force whose magnitude is 70 N. Alice
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

a) 70 N, b) b. Each initially applied a force bigger than static friction to get the box moving and accelerating, then when the desired final speed was achieved they reduced the force to make the net force zero.

Explanation:

a) A constant speed means that magnitude of friction force is equal to the magnitude of the external force. The friction force is directly proportional to the normal force, which is equal to the weight of the box. Therefore, the magnitude of the force is 70 N.

b) Alice used initially a greater force to accelerate the box up to needed speed and later reduced the external force to keep speed constant. The right choice is option b.
