Answer:

intensity of sound at level of microphone is 0.00139 W / m 2

sound intensity level at position of micro phone is 91.456 dB

EXPLANATION:

Given data:

power of sound   P = 31 W

distance betwen microphone & speaker is   42 m

a) intensity of sound at microphone is calculated as

                   I = \frac{P}{A}

                   = \frac{34}{4 \pi ( 44m )^ 2}

                   =  0.00139 W / m 2

b) sound intensity level at position of micro phone is

                \beta = 10 log \frac{I}{I_o}

    where I_o id reference sound intensity and taken as

                = 1 * 10^{-12} W / m 2

               \beta = 10 log\frac{0.00139}{10^[-12}}

                     = 91.456 dB

Three kids are riding on a snow sled traveling horizontally without friction at 19.8 m/s. The masses of Kid A, B, and C are 42.8
Kamila [148]

Answer:

34.6 m/s

Explanation:

From conservation of momentum, the sum of initial and final momentum are equal. Momentum is a product of mass and velocity. Initial mass will be 42.8+31.5+25.9=100.2 kg

Final mass will be 31.5+25.9=57.4 kg

From formula of momentum

M1v1=m2v2

Making v2 the subject of the formula then

V2=\frac {M1v1}{m2}

Substitute 100.2 kg for M1, 19.8 m/s fkr v1 and 57.4 kg for m2 then

V2=\frac {100.2 kg\times 19.8 m/s}{57.4 kg}=34.56376 m/s\approx 34.6 m/s

A stone is thrown with an initial speed of 12 m/s at an angle of 30o above the horizontal from the top edge of a cliff. If it ta
kherson [118]

Answer:

d=58m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Initial Speed U=12m/s

Time T=5.6s

Angle \theta=30

Generally the  Newton's equation for motion is mathematically given by

d=d'+ut+\frac{at^2}{2}

d=12cos30*5.6

d=58m
