Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

G.) The number atoms of that element in the molecule

Explanation:

F is incorrect because the coefficient represents the amount of one type of molecule, not the subscript

G is correct because subscripts represent how many atoms of that element are present in that single molecule

H is incorrect because energy is not represented in this simple type of equation

J is incorrect because it doesn't even make sense

A basketball player can leap upward 0.43 m. how long does he remain in the air? use an acceleration due to gravity of 9.80 m/s2
MArishka [77]
From the equations of linear motion,
v² = u² + 2as where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity and a is the gravitational acceleration, and s is the displacement,
Thus, v² = u² -2gs, but v=0
hence, u² = 2gs
                = 2×9.81×0.43
                = 8.4366
            u = √8.4366
               =2.905 m/s
Hence the initial velocity is 2.905 m/s
 Then using the equation v= u +gt .
Therefore, v = u -gt. (-g because the player is jumping against the gravity)
but, v = 0
Thus, u= gt
Hence, t = u/g
              = 2.905/9.81
              = 0.296 seconds

A basketball player drops a 0.4-kg basketball vertically so that it is traveling at 5.7 m/s when it reaches the floor. The ball
Alik [6]

Answer:

(a) p = 3.4 kg-m/s (b) 37.78 N.

Explanation:

Mass of a basketball, m = 0.4 kg

Initial velocity of the ball, u = -5.7 m/s (as it comes down so it is negative)

It rebounds upward at a speed of 2.8 m/s  (as it rebounds so positive)

(a) Change in momentum = final momentum - initial momentum

p = m(v-u)

p = 0.4 (2.8-(-5.7))

p = 3.4 kg-m/s

(b) Impulse = change in momentum

Ft = 3.4

We have, t = 0.09 s

F=\dfrac{3.4}{0.09}\\\\F=37.78\ N

Hence, this is the required solution.
