John steps on an escalator to leave a subway. Then, 5 seconds later, Jane steps on a parallel escalator to enter the subway. The

y pass 15 seconds after that. If both escalators are travelling at a speed of 6 feet per second, what is the length â„“ of the escalators

Answer:

L = 210 ft

Explanation:

velocity of the Escalators is given as 6 ft/s

now we know that Jane steps on parallel escalator after t = 5 s

so distance moved by John in same time interval is given as

d = v t

d_1 = 6 \times 5

d_1 = 30 ft

now John and Jane will move towards each other with relative speed

v_r = 6 + 6 = 12ft/s

Then will approach towards each other with this relative speed and meet after t = 15 s

so the distance moved by them

d = v_r \times t

d_2 = 12 \times 15

d_2 = 180 ft

so total length of the escalators is given as

L = d_1 + d_2

L = 30 + 180

L = 210 ft

Large vehicles need more room to make turns. when you approach an intersection and see a truck ahead signaling a right turn, you
netineya [11]
This statement is false.
The correct statement would be,
"When you approach an intersection and see a truck ahead signaling a right turn, you should stay behind the truck, away from the curbside, until the turn is completed."

Larger vehicles require a larger space to turn, being next to the truck and close to the curbside will only make it more difficult for the truck driver to complete the turn. This in turn will waste more time or even block traffic while the truck driver tries to complete the turn in the difficult situation that could have easily been avoided.

The gravitational self potential energy of a solid ball of mass density ρ and radius R is E. What is the gravitational self pote
Alenkasestr [34]
It will be
E = mgh.
where h and g are constant thus
m can be written as 4/3πr^3*density
E = 4/3πr^3* density
E? = 4/3π(2R)^3* density
= 4/3π8r^3
thus the e will be 4/3π8r^3* density/4/3πr^3*density nd thus you get 8E ..

katrin2010 [14]

Explanation:

a. Average speed = distance / time

= 100 m / 70 s

= 1.43 m/s

b. Average displacement = displacement / time

= 0 m / 70 s

= 0 m/s

Distance is the length of the path traveled. Displacement is the difference between the final position and initial position.
