A proton with an initial speed of 400,000 m/s is brought to rest by an electric field. Did the proton move into a region of high

er potential or lower potential? a. Because the proton is a negative charge and it accelerates as it travels, it must be moving from a region of lower potential to a region of higher potential. b. Because the proton is a positive charge and it slows down as it travels, it must be moving from a region of lower potential to a region of higher potential. c. Because the proton is a positive charge and it slows down as it travels, it must be moving from a region of higher potential to a region of lower potential. d. A proton is initially moving at high speed

v = 400000 m/s

so here initially proton is having high speed and high kinetic energy

now this proton comes to rest by external electric field

so the potential energy of proton will increase or we can say that kinetic energy will convert into electrostatic potential energy

so here the proton must have to move at higher potential region

so here correct answer must be

b. Because the proton is a positive charge and it slows down as it travels, it must be moving from a region of lower potential to a region of higher potential.

What happens when water at 4° celsius is heated further?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

please give me brainlist and follow

Explanation:

4 degrees C turns out to be the temperature at which liquid water has the highest density. If you heat it or cool it, it will expand. ... Ice floats on top of lakes, preventing evaporation (and convection in the frozen layer), and lakes stay liquid underneath, allowing fish and other life to survive.

The floor of a railroad flatcar is loaded with loose crates having a coefficient of static friction of 0.32 with the floor. If t
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

The shortest braking distance is 35.8 m

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use Newton's second law applied to the boxes, on the vertical axis we have the norm up and the weight vertically down

On the horizontal axis we fear the force of friction (fr) that opposes the movement and acceleration of the train, write the equation for each axis

    Y axis

     N- W = 0

     N = W = mg

  X axis

     -Fr = m a

     -μ N = m a

     -μ mg = ma

     a = μ g

     a  = - 0.32 9.8

     a =  - 3.14 m/s²

We calculate the distance using the kinematics equations

    Vf² = Vo² + 2 a x

     x = (Vf² - Vo²) / 2 a

When the train stops the speed is zero (Vf = 0)

 Vo = 54 km/h (1000m/1km) (1 h/3600s)= 15 m/s

     x = ( 0 - 15²) / 2 (-3.14)

     x=  35.8 m

The shortest braking distance is  35.8 m

A 1.0-m long wire is carrying a certain amount of current. The wire is placed perpendicular to a magnetic field of strength 0.20
Marysya12 [62]

For a current-carrying wire running perpendicular to a magnetic field, the magnetic force acting on the wire is given by:

F = ILB

F = magnetic force, I = current, L = wire length, B = magnetic field strength

Given values:

F = 0.60N, L = 1.0m, B = 0.20T

Plug in and solve for I:

0.60 = I(1.0)(0.20)

I = 3.0A
