Answer : The correct answer is 196 J

Given : Mass = 2 Kg Height = 10 m Work = ?

Work , force and height can be related by formula as :

W = F * d ---> (1)

Where : W = work ( Joules or J ) , F= force ( Newton or N) and d = distance traveled by object or height ( meter or m)

Force can be written as : F = m * a

Where F = force m = mass and a = acceleration .

Since work is done to lift the mass so acceleration is taken as gravitational acceleration . Hence F = m * g ----(2) (g = 9.8 m/s²)

Combining equation (1) and (2) , work , mass and height can be related as :

W = m * g * h

Plugging formula in this formula

W = 2 kg * 9.8 m/s² * 10 m

W = 196 J

From the calculation, the standard free energy of the system is -359kJ.

What is the standard free-energy?

The standard free-energy is the energy present in the system. We have to first obtain the cell potential using the formula;

Ereduction - E oxidation = 0.96 V - 0.34 V = 0.62 V

Using the formula;

ΔG = -nFEcell

ΔG =-(6 * 96500 * 0.62)

ΔG =-359kJ
