I'm only adept in atomic makeup but my guess would be 13 electrons since they have a negative charge and protons have a positive one.

For any atom to be electrically neutral, the atom MUST have the same numbers of protons and electrons.  So if you have 13 protons, you need 13 electrons to be neutral.

An archer puts a 0.30 kg arrow to the bowstring. An average force of 201 N is exerted to draw the string back 1.3 m.a. Assuming
Vlad [161]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

mass of archer m=0.3\ kg

Average force F_{avg}=201\ N

extension in arrow x=1.3\ m

Work done to stretch the bow with arrow

W=F\cdot x

W=201\times 1.3=261.3\ m

This work done is converted into kinetic Energy of arrow

W=\frac{1}{2}mv^2

where v= velocity of arrow

261.3=\frac{1}{2}\times 0.3\times v^2

v=\sqrt{1742}

v=41.73\ m/s

(b)if arrow is thrown vertically upward then this energy is converted to Potential energy

W=mgh

261.3=0.3\times 9.8\times h

h=\frac{261.3}{0.3\times 9.8}

h=88.87\ m

A 10-foot ladder is leaning straight up against a wall when a person begins pulling the base of the ladder away from the wall at
docker41 [41]

Answer:

y = 4.36

Explanation:

Let the height of the ladder be L

L = 10

Also:

  • Let x = distance\ from\ the\ base\ of\ the\ ladder
  • Let y = height\ of\ the\ base\ of\ the\ ladder

When the ladder leans against the wall, it forms a triangle and the length of the ladder forms the hypotenuse.

So, we have:

L^2 = x^2 + y^2 --- Pythagoras Theorem

When the base is 9ft from the wall, this means that:

x = 9

Substitute 9 for x and 10 for L in L^2 = x^2 + y^2

10^2 = 9^2 + y^2

100 = 81 + y^2

Make y^2 the subject

y^2 = 100 - 81

y^2 = 19

Make y the subject

y = \sqrt{19

y = 4.36

<em>Hence, the true distance at that point is approximately 4.36ft</em>

kipiarov [429]

Answer:

1.04 s

Explanation:

The computation is shown below:

As we know that

t = t' × 1 ÷ (√(1 - (v/c)^2)

here

v = 0.5c

t = 1.20 -s

So,

1.20 = t' × 1 ÷ (√(1 - (0.5/c)^2)

1.20 = t' × 1 ÷ (√(1 - (0.5)^2)

1.20 = t' ÷ √0.75

1.20 = t' ÷ 0.866

t' = 0.866 × 1.20

= 1.04 s

The above formula should be applied

Which of the following statements explains why a race car going around a curve is accelerating, even if the speed is constant? A
Tom [10]

OPTION C The car is accelerating because the direction of velocity is changing explains why a race car going around a curve is accelerating, even if the speed is constant

  • When a body is in uniform circular motion ( constant speed ), it will continuously cheanges its direction and so the body is accelerating
  • The rate at which an item changes its velocity is known as acceleration, a vector variable. If an object's velocity is changing, it is accelerating.
  • As a vector quantity, acceleration has a direction attached to it. The acceleration vector's direction is determined by two factors: if the thing is slowing down or speeding up the direction the thing is travelling in (+ or -)

  • The following general rule is used to calculate acceleration:

An object's acceleration will be in the opposite direction of its velocity if it is slowing down.

You may use this basic concept to determine if an object's acceleration is positive or negative, to the right or left, up or down, etc.
