Answer : The correct option is, (d) neutrons and protons

Explanation :

As we know that an atom is the smallest unit of a matter that consist of three subatomic particles which are electrons, protons and neutrons.

The protons and the neutrons are located inside the nucleus or center of the nucleus where the mass of the an atom is concentrated and the electrons are located around the nucleus.

The protons are positively charged, the electrons are negatively charged and the neutrons are neutral that means it has no charge.

Hence, the nucleus of an atom contains neutrons and protons.

The answer is (d)

Electrons are outside the nuclues in energy levels. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons have no charge, and electrons have a negative charge. A neutral atom contains equal numbers of protons and electrons

Explain how energy is transferred in a food web.
andrezito [222]

Energy is transferred through the separate trophic levels of a food chain or web by feeding.The first trophic level (producers) is that of plants which are examples of autotrophs – they make their own food. Photosynthesis occurs when the plants use solar energy and convert it into chemical energy so it can be stored in a carbon compound. Once this has happened the energy can be taken up by the primary consumers – these are in the second trophic level (herbivores and omnivores). Secondary consumers also need to gain energy in some way, and this is by eating the primary consumers that have gained energy from the producers, this means that the second trophic level has successfully transferred energy into the third level containing omnivores and carnivores. A succession in energy transferral means that a food web or food chain has a tertiary and/or quaternary trophic level which can contain carnivores and omnivores which are plant and animal eaters (this includes humans).This transfer in energy is fairly efficient for the organisms involved as around 10% of light energy that is converted into chemical energy through photosynthesis is transferred through the trophic levels, the rest is lost in respiration, as heat, faeces and urine. Not all of the energy can be passed along a food web or chain as it must be used in other things too, so it cannot be 100% efficient.

Which role of water is significant for most living things in a biological system?a. It prevents many life processes from occurri
Sedaia [141]
I am pretty sure the correct answer is C. Water has large heat capacity meaning it can absorb a lot of energy before changing temperature. That helps the body regulate heat since it can be exposed to different environments and experience small temperature changes.

I hope this helps. Let me know if anything is unclear.

A certain vinegar is 6.02% acetic acid (hc2h3o2, by mass. how many grams of acetic acid are contained in a 355 ml bottle of vine
Eddi Din [679]
First, determine the amount of vinegar in grams by multiplying the volume by the density. That is,
                                        mass = (355 ml) x (1.01 g/mL) = 358.55 g
Then, multiply the calculated mass above by the decimal equivalent of the given percentage above.
                      amount of acetic acid = (358.55 g)(0.0602) = 21.58 g

1) Amount: 8.26 milliliters (ml) of mercury volume
Equals: 111.79 grams (g) in mercury mass
Calculate grams of mercury per 8.26 milliliters unit.

B) volume = mass / density
volume = 120 g / 13.6 = 8.82 ml

2) (1.2 L) x (1000 mL/L) x (0.74 g/mL) = 888 g
