Answer:

mass of the gold nuggets = 386 grams

Explanation:

Density is the mass of a substance divided by it volume. Density compares the amount of matter in a substance to it volume. It talks about how tightly packed molecules of substance are compacted together. It is the ratio of mass per volume. The S.I unit of a density is kilogram per cubic meters. it can also be represented as gram per cubic centimeters.

Mathematically ,

density = mass/volume

mass of nugget = ?

density of the nugget = 19.3 g/cm³

volume of the nugget = 20.0 cm³

density = mass/volume

Make mass the subject of the formula

mass = density × volume

mass = 19.3 × 20

mass = 386 grams

Mass talks about how much matter a substance contain .It can be measured in grams or kilograms

Density * Volume = Mass

Now we substitute the values in.

19.3 g/cm^3 + 20 cm^3 = 386 g

Mass = 386 g

Why is the temperature needed to freeze ocean water lower than the temperature needed to freeze the surface of a freshwater lake
shepuryov [24]
Ocean water freezes just like freshwater, but at Lower temperature. Fresh water freezes At 32°F but see water freezes at about 28.4°F because of the salt in it it can be melted down to use as drinking water

Explain why we use 1/12 in finding atomic mass unit ?
Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

The u (amu is the old unit name) is 1/12 of the weight of an 12C atom. The way the u is chosen ensures that all core and atom masses are multiples of 1(±0.1) u.

Explanation:

Further explanation if needed...

Carbon 12 was chosen because the chemical atomic weights based on C12 are almost identical to the chemical atomic weights based on the natural mix of oxygen. Simply because the atomic mass is defined as 1/12 of the mass of 12C. Others isotopes of carbon (13C mostly, with an abundance of 1.1% approximately) account for an average atomic mass slightly above 12.

A military jet cruising at an altitude of 12.0km and speed of 1300./kmh burns fuel at the rate of 46.2/Lmin. How would you calcu
ira [324]

Answer:

2,452.12 L of fuel the jet consumes on a 1150 km mission.

Explanation:

Speed of the jet = 1300 km/h

1 hour = 60 minutes

1300 km/h=\frac{1300 km}{60 min}=21.667 km/min

Rate at which jet consumes fuel = 46.2 L/min

Distance covered by jet by consuming 1 liter fuel or mileage = R

R = \frac{21.667 km/min}{46.2 L/min}=0.4690 km/L

The amount of fuel the jet consumes on a 1150 km mission will = V

Amount of fuel = \frac{Distance}{Mileage}

V=\frac{1150 km}{0.4690 km/L}=2,452.12 L

2,452.12 L of fuel the jet consumes on a 1150 km mission.

What is the temperature at which something boils? A chemical change or property or a physical change or property?
DerKrebs [107]
The boiling point of a substance is a physical property. A physical property of a material or substance is one that can be observed without changing or altering the composition of the material. Examples are mass, Density, Color, solubility, boiling point, melting point . A chemical property of a substance is one that describes how the material changes into a completely different substance and is observed only during a chemical reaction. Examples of chemical properties include types of chemical bonds, heat of combustion, reactivity with other metals, oxidation state and enthalpy of formation.
