51 degrees. Since we're ignoring friction, we have to have a banking angle such that the normal force is exactly perpendicular to the banked curve. Since this problem says "ignore friction", if the bank angle is too shallow, the bobsled would slide outwards if the banking angle is too shallow and would fall inwards if the banking angle is too steep. So we have to exactly match the calculated centripetal acceleration. The equation for centripetal acceleration is: F = mv^2/r I'll assume a mass of 1 kg to keep the math simple. Any mass could be used and the direction vectors would be the same except their magnitude would differ. So F = 1 kg * (35 m/s)^2/100 m F = 1225 kg*m^2/s^2 / 100 m F = 12.25 kg*m/s^2 The local gravitational acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2, so the sum of those vectors will have a length of sqrt(12.25^2 + 9.8^2) and an angle of atan(9.8/12.25) below the horizon. The magnitude of the vector doesn't matter, merely the angle which is: atan(9.8/12.25) = atan(0.8) = 38.65980825 degrees. The banking angle needs to be perpendicular to the force vectors. So 90 - 38.65980825 = 51.34019175 degrees. Rounding to 2 significant figures gives a bank angle of 51 degrees.

Consider the following scenario. A car for which friction is not negligible accelerates from rest down a hill, running out of ga
drek231 [11]

Answer:

1) U-> K +W

2) K -> W

Explanation:

In this exercise, care must be taken as they indicate that the friction force (rubbing) is not negligible.

1 part at the top of the hill the car has gravitational potential energy, which is transformed in a part into kinetic energy and another part into heat by the work of the friction force that opposes the movement.

2 part when the other hill rises it loses kinetic energy that is transformed into gravitational potential energy and part in heat due to the work of the friction force on this hill.

3rd part in the last descent all the gravitational potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy and the application of the brakes is transformed into heat due to the negative lock of the friction force and filled with gasoline that has chemical energy that can be transformed in the engine.

Never start a job without knowing the _______and_______ of the chemicals you are working with a) properties and hazards b) SDS a
charle [14.2K]

Answer

a) properties and hazards

Explanation

Having information on properties of a chemical helps you know the reactivity of that chemicals.

Most chemicals are very reactive. So you have to be away of their hazards to avoid accidents.

What are the variables of Boyle's law?
vesna_86 [32]

Answer: pressure and volume

Explanation:

Boyle's law states that the volume of a fixed mass of gas is inversely proportional to the pressure of the gas provided temperature is kept constant.

Mathematically, Boyle's law can be explained as: PV = k,

where P is pressure

V is volume, and

k is a constant.

So, increase in the pressure of a gas leads to decrease in its volume and vice versa.
