51 degrees. Since we're ignoring friction, we have to have a banking angle such that the normal force is exactly perpendicular to the banked curve. Since this problem says "ignore friction", if the bank angle is too shallow, the bobsled would slide outwards if the banking angle is too shallow and would fall inwards if the banking angle is too steep. So we have to exactly match the calculated centripetal acceleration. The equation for centripetal acceleration is: F = mv^2/r I'll assume a mass of 1 kg to keep the math simple. Any mass could be used and the direction vectors would be the same except their magnitude would differ. So F = 1 kg * (35 m/s)^2/100 m F = 1225 kg*m^2/s^2 / 100 m F = 12.25 kg*m/s^2 The local gravitational acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2, so the sum of those vectors will have a length of sqrt(12.25^2 + 9.8^2) and an angle of atan(9.8/12.25) below the horizon. The magnitude of the vector doesn't matter, merely the angle which is: atan(9.8/12.25) = atan(0.8) = 38.65980825 degrees. The banking angle needs to be perpendicular to the force vectors. So 90 - 38.65980825 = 51.34019175 degrees. Rounding to 2 significant figures gives a bank angle of 51 degrees.

Match the boundary with its characteristic
kondor19780726 [428]
Matching the boundary with its characteristics 1. Convergent - C. Compression 2. Divergent - B. Along ocean ridges 3. Transform - A. Along strike-slip faults The compression that occur in the convergent boundary causes the reverse fault in the earth crust. So in the divergent boundary two crust plates move apart causing a normal fault along the ocean ridges. The faults in the transform boundary happens at the place where plates slide laterally.

Describe four consequences of having a different type of joint in the thumb.
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

Essentially, your thumb is the main piece of your body that has saddle joints. The bones in your seats joint are in charge of moving forward and backward, side to side.

When all is said in done, the piece of the thumb joint that is subjected to extreme anxiety is that known as CMC joint or carpometacarpal joint. This joint is fundamentally shaped by the metacarpal bone and it explains with the trapezium bone of the wrist.

A speeding motorist traveling down a straight highway at 100 km/h passes a parked police car. It takes the police constable 1.0
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

t = 7.5 s

Explanation:

The distance traveled by the car at the time of meeting of the two cars must be the same. First, we calculate the distance traveled by the police car. For that we use 2nd equation of motion. Here, we take the time when police car starts to be reference. So,

s₁ = Vi t + (0.5)gt²

where,

s₁ = distance traveled by police car

Vi = Initial Velocity = 0 m/s

t = time taken

Therefore,

s₁ = (0 m/s)(t) + (0.5)(9.8 m/s²)t²

s₁ = 4.9 t²

Now, we calculate the distance traveled by the car. For constant speed and time to be 1 second more than the police car time, due to car starting time, we get:

s₂ = Vt = V(t + 1)

where,

s₂ = distance traveled by car

V = Velocity of car = (100 km/h)(1000 m/1 km)(1 h/ 3600 s) = 27.78 m/s

Therefore,

s₂ = 27.78 t + 27.78

Now, we know that at the time of meeting:

s₁ = s₂

4.9 t² = 27.78 t + 27.78

4.9 t² - 270.78 t - 27.78 = 0

solving the equation and choosing the positive root:

t = 6.5 s

since, we want to know the time from the moment car crossed police car. Therefore, we add 1 second of starting time in this.

t = 6.5 s + 1 s

t = 7.5 s
