Friction... Newton's first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force

Means it will keep going until acted on by an outside force, in this case friction

A car moving due east increases its speed uniformly from 16 m/s to 32 m/s in 10.0 s. How far, in meters, did the car travel whil
omeli [17]
During the period of constant acceleration, the car's average speed is (1/2) (16 + 32) = 24 m/s. At that average speed, it covers 240 meters in 10 seconds.

By what distance do two objects carrying 1.0 C of charge each have to be separated before the electric force exerted on each obj
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

Distance between both the object will be 404.51 m

Explanation:

We have given charge on two objects q_1=q_2=1C

Coulomb force between the two objects is given F = 5.5 N

We have to fond the distance between both the object so that force between them is 5.5 N

According to coulomb law force between two charge particle is F=\frac{1}{4\pi \epsilon _0}\frac{q_1q_2}{r^2}

So 5.5=\frac{9\times 10^9\times 1\times 1}{r^2}

r^2=16.36\times 10^8

r = 404.51 m

So distance between both object will be 404.51 m

A train is traveling at 30.0 m/sm/s relative to the ground in still air. The frequency of the note emitted by the train whistle
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer

given,

speed of sound = 344 m/s

speed of train = 30 m/s

frequency emitted by the train = 262 Hz

   Doppler's effect

    f_L = \dfrac{v + v_L}{v + v_s}\ f_S

f_L is the frequency of listener

f_S is the frequency of the source of the sound

v is the speed of the sound

v_L is the speed of listener.

v_S is the speed of the source

a) Speed of the passenger in another train , v = 18 m/s

   another train is moving in opposite direction and approaching

   v_L is positive as the listener is moving forward.

    v_S is negative at the source is moving toward the listener.

      f_L = \dfrac{344 + 18}{344 - 30}\times 262

     f_L = 302\ Hz

b) Speed of the passenger in another train , v = 18 m/s

   another train is moving in opposite direction and receding

    v_L is negative as the listener is moving away from source.

    v_S is positive at the source is moving away the listener.

      f_L = \dfrac{344 - 18}{344 + 30}\times 262

     f_L = 228.37\ Hz

At the instant a traffic light turns green, a car starts with a constant acceleration of 1.3 m/s2. At the same instant a truck,
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

(a) Distance traveled = 75.3846 m

(b) Velocity of car at that instant will be 14 m/sec

Explanation:

We have given acceleration of the car a=1.3m/sec^2

Initial velocity of the cart u = 0 m/sec

(a) According to second equation of motion we know that s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2

So distance traveled by car s_c=0\times t+\frac{1}{2}\times 1.3t^2=0.65t^2

As the truck is moving with constant speed

So distance traveled by truck s_t=ut=7t

As the truck overtakes the car

So s_c=s_t

0.65t^2=7t

t=10.769sec

So distance traveled s_c=s_t=7\times 10.769=75.3846m

(b) From second equation of motion we know that v = u+at

So v = 0+1.3×10.769 = 14 m /sec
