Answer:

The coefficient of friction is 0.38.

Explanation:

The free body diagram is drawn below.

Let f be frictional force acting in the backward direction as shown. Let the coefficient of friction be \mu. Let N be the normal reaction force acting on the bag.

Given:

Mass of the bag is, m=8.10\textrm{ kg}

Force acting at \theta = 38° is F= 29.5\textrm{ N}

Acceleration due to gravity is, g=9.8\textrm{ }m/s^{2}

The force F can be resolved into its components as F_{x}=F \cos \theta and F_{y}=F \sin \theta

Therefore,

F_{x}=29.5\cos(38)=23.25\textrm{ N}\\F_{y}=29.5\sin(38)=18.16\textrm{ N}

Now, as there is no acceleration in vertical direction, therefore,

Sum of upward forces = Sum of downward forces

N+F_{y}=mg\\N=mg-F_{y}=8.10\times 9.8-18.16\\N=79.38-18.16=61.22\textrm{ N}

Now, as the bag is moving at a constant speed, so acceleration in the horizontal direction is also zero as acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

Therefore, backward force = forward force.

f=F_{x}\\f=23.25\textrm{ N}

Now, frictional force is given as:

f=\mu N\\\mu = \frac{f}{N}=\frac{23.25}{61.22}=0.38

Therefore, the coefficient of friction is 0.38.

An orchestra is practicing a piece that is to be played at an allegro tempo. The conductor sets a metronome at 160 beats per min
omeli [17]

Answer:

375 ms

Explanation:

the frequency of metronome , f = 160 beats per minute

f = 160 /60 beats per sec

f = 2.67 beats /s

the period of a single beat , T = 1/f

T = 1/2.67 s

T = 0.375 s = 375 ms

the period of a single beat is 375 ms

1.33 m^3 of fluid flows out of a pipe in 24.5 s. the fluid leaves the pipe at 3.55 m/s. what is the area of the pipe. (unit=m^2)
Margaret [11]

Answer:

0.015meter^{2}

Explanation:

Total volume of water coming out = 1.33meter^{3}

Also volume = Cross sectional area*Length covered

Length covered = Velocity *time

                           =24.5*3.55

                           =86.97 meter

Let the cross sectional area be A.

1.33 = 86.97*A

A =0.015meter^{2}

Which of the following are true about a "simple compressible system"? It cannot be a mixture of different substances (e.g. oxyge
fomenos

Explanation:

The volume of a simple compressible system is not fixed. At a state of equilibrium, there should be uniformity in the entire system.

From the question we have here, these are the correct options:

1. It cannot be a mixture of different substances (e.g. oxygen and nitrogent)

2. It can be composed of any phases of a substance: solid, liquid, and/or gas

3. It's state is specified if given two independent, intensive thermodynamic properties.

A rowboat passenger uses an oar to push the boat off the dock by exerting a force of 60.0 N for 2.0s. What impulse acts on the b
NARA [144]
Impulse<span> is the change of momentum of an object when the object is acted upon by a force for an interval of time. It is simply calculated by the expression:
</span>
Impulse = F(change in time)
Impulse = 60(2)
Impulse = 120 Ns

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
