In physics, Ohm's law says that current through a wire, I, is directly proportional to voltage, V, and inversely proportional to

resistance, R: [ I=V/R. ] It's also true that resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire. We have a piece of wire. We pass 12 volts through this wire and measure 100 milliamps of current. If I cut the wire in half and pass 24 volts through it, how many milliamps of current will I measure?

Due to Ohm's law, I is proportional to V and 1/R:

I ∝ V

I ∝ 1/R

R is proportional to the wire length L:

R ∝ L

Therefore I is also proportional to 1/L:

I ∝ 1/L

Calculate the scale factor due to increased voltage:

k₁ = 24/12 = 2

Calculate the scale factor due to decreased wire length:

k₂ = 1/(0.5/1) = 2

Multiply the original current by the scale factors to get the new current:

I = I₀k₁k₂

I₀ = 100mA, k₁ = 2, k₂ = 2

I = 100(2)(2)

I = 400mA

A coil of wire with 50 turns lies in the plane of the page and has an initial area of 0.140 m2. The coil is now stretched to hav
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

Magnitude of induced emf will be 87.5 volt

Direction of induced emf will be clockwise

Explanation:

We have given number of turns in the coil N = 50

Initial area A=0.140m^2

Time is given dt = 0.1 sec

Magnetic field B = 1.25 T

From Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction

ne=-N\frac{d\Phi }{dt}=-NA\frac{dB}{dt}

e=-50\times 0.140\times \frac{1.25}{0.1}=-87.5volt

So magnitude of induced emf is 87.5 volt

Direction of induced emf will be clockwise

Describe how molecules enter and leave a cell without the use of the cell’s energy
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

Through passive transport

Explanation:

Passive transport is the movement of molecules and ions across the cell membrane whith no use of energy, it usuale involves a difussion down its concentration gradient (a region where concentration changes) across a membrane, from higher to lower concentrations. Passive transport can happen by simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion, filtration, or osmosis.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!
