A person is watching a boat from the top of a lighthouse. The boat is approaching the lighthouse directly. When first noticed th

e angle of depression to the boat is 18°33'. When the boat stops, the angle of depression is 51°33'. The lighthouse is 200 feet tall. How far did the boat travel from when it was first noticed until it stopped? Round your answer to the hundredths place.. . Is the answer -706.44 ft?

There are several information's already given in the question. Based on those given information's the answer can be easily deduced.
First angle of depression = 18°33'
                                        = [18 + (33/60)] degree
                                        = 18.55 degrees
Second angle of depression = 51°33'
                                              = [51 + (33/60)] degrees
                                              = 51.55 degrees
Height of the lighthouse = 200 feet
Then
Distance traveled by the boat from when it
was first noticed until it stopped = (200/tan 18.55) - (200/tan 51.55)
                                                   = (200/0.3356) - (200/1.2594)
                                                   = 594.95 - 158.81
                                                   = 436.14 feet
I hope the procedure is clear enough for you to understand.

A car, starting from the origin, travels
sweet [91]

Answer:

The net displacement of the car is 3 km West

Explanation:

Please see the attached drawing to understand the car's trajectory: First in the East direction for 4 km (indicated by the green arrow that starts at the origin (zero), and stops at position 4 on the right (East).

Then from that position, it moves back towards the West going over its initial path, it goes through the origin and continues for 3 more km completing a moving to the West a total of 7 km. This is indicated in the drawing with an orange trace that end in position 3 to the left (West) of zero.

So, its NET displacement considered from the point of departure (origin at zero) to the final point where the trip ended, is 3 km to the west.

If a vehicle is traveling at constant velocity and then comes to a sudden stop, has it undergone negative acceleration or positi
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

Negative acceleration

Explanation:

Let us assume a vehicle is moving with a constant velocity u and then it comes to a sudden stop.

The initial velocity of the vehicle is u and finally it comes to rest, it means final velocity is 0.

As we know that,

Acceleration is equal to change in velocity divided by time taken.

a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}\\\\\text{Put v=0}\\\\a=\dfrac{-u}{t}

We can see that the value of acceleration is negative. Hence, it leads to negative acceleration.

What would happen if your entire kitchen was connected in series circuit? How would preparing meals and cleaning up be different
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

Explanation:

When the circuit elements are connected in series, the current in each element is same but the potential difference is different.

So, as one of the circuit component breaks off or burnt, all the other components are also not working as the circuit becomes open and no current is flowing through the circuit.
