When we move across a period in the periodic table then there occurs an increase in the electronegativity of the elements because of decrease in their atomic size.

This also means that on moving from left to right in a periodic table elements become less electropositive in nature.
Therefore, we can conclude that from left to right across a period in the periodic table, elements become less electropositive and more electronegative in their properties.
