Answer:

28.23 days

Explanation:

Length of magic beanstalk=4 feet

Height increasing exponentially and double each day.

We have  formula

y=a(b)^t

Where t=Time (in day)

We have a=4

When t=1 then y=8

8=4b^1

b=\frac{8}{4}=2

b=2

Distance between moon and earth=y=238,900 miles=238900\times 5280 feet

Substitute the values

238900\times 5280=4(2)^t

\frac{238900\times 5280}{4}=2^t

315348000=2^t

ln(315348000)=tln 2

t=\frac{ln315348000}{ln 2}

t=28.23 days

How long does it take to raise the temperature of the air in a good-sized living room (3.00m×5.00m×8.00m) by 10.0∘C? Note that t
tekilochka [14]

Answer : The time required is, 16.1 minutes.

Explanation :

First we have to calculate the amount of heat required to increase the temperature is:

Q=mC\Delta T\\\\Q=\rho VC\Delta T

(m=\rho V)

where,

Q = amount of heat required = ?

m = mass

\rho = density of air = 1.20kg/m^3

V = volume of air

C = specific heat of air = 1006J/kg^oC

\Delta T = change in temperature = 10.0^oC

Now put all the given values in above formula, we get:

Q=\rho VC\Delta T

Q=(1.20kg/m^3)\times (3.00m\times 5.00m\times 8.00m)\times (1006J/kg^oC)\times (10.0^oC)

Q=1.449\times 10^6J

Now we have to calculate the time required.

Formula used :

t=\frac{Q}{P}

where,

t = time required = ?

Q = amount of heat required = 1.449\times 10^6J

P = power = 1500 W

Now put all the given values in above formula, we get:

t=\frac{1.449\times 10^6J}{1500W}

t=966s\times \frac{1min}{60s}=16.1min

Thus, the time required is, 16.1 minutes.

A satellite is in circular orbit at an altitude of 1500 km above the surface of a nonrotating planet with an orbital speed of 9.
Ksju [112]

To solve this problem we will use the Newtonian theory about the speed of a body in space for which the speed of a body in the orbit of a planet is summarized as:

v =  \sqrt{\frac{2GM}{R}}

Where,

G = Gravitational Universal Constant

M = Mass of Planet

r = Radius of the planet ('h' would be the orbit from the surface)

The escape velocity is

v = 14.9km/h = 14900m/s

Through this equation we can find the mass of the Planet in function of the distance, therefore

M = \frac{v^2R}{2G}

M = \frac{14900^2R}{2(6.67*10^{-11})}

M = 16.64*10^{17}R

The orbital velocity is

v_o = \sqrt{\frac{GM}{R+h}}

9200^2 = \frac{(6.67*10^{-11})(16.64*10^{17})R}{R+1500*10^3}

11.1*10^7R = (R+15000*10^3)(9200)^2

2.64*10^7R = 12.69*10^{13}

R = 4.81*10^6m

The time period of revolution is,

T = \frac{2\pi(R+h)}{v_o}

T = \frac{2\pi(4.81*10^6+1.5*10^6)}{9200}

T = 4307s

T = 72min = 1hour12min

Therefore the orbital period of the satellite is closes to 1 hour and 12 min

A car with a mass of 1380 Kg is traveling at 23 m/s to the north. A truck with a mass of 1625 Kg is traveling at 26 m/s to the s
trasher [3.6K]

Answer: -3.49 m/s (to the south)

Explanation:

This problem can be solved by the Conservation of Momentum principle which establishes the initial momentum p_{i} must be equal to the final momentum p_{f}, and taking into account this is aninelastic collision:

Before the collision:

p_{i}=mV_{o}+MU_{o} (1)

After the collision:

p_{f}=(m+M)V_{f} (2)

Where:

m=1380 kg is the mass of the car

V_{o}=23 m/s is the velocity of the car, directed to the north

M=1625 kg is the mass of the truck

U_{o}=-26 m/s is the velocity of the truck, directed to the south

V_{f} is the final velocity of both the car and the truck

p_{i}=p_{f} (3)

mV_{o}+MU_{o}=(m+M)V_{f} (4)

Isolating V_{f}:

V_{f}=\frac{mV_{o}+MU_{o}}{m+M} (5)

V_{f}=\frac{(1380 kg)(23 m/s)+(1625 kg)(-26 m/s)}{1380 kg+1625 kg} (6)

Finally:

V_{f}=-3.49 m/s The negative sign indicates the direction of the velocity is to the south
