Suppose you have two boxes in front of you. One box contains a Thevenin Equivalent (voltage source in series with a resistor) an

d the other box contains a Norton Equivalent (current source in parallel with a resistor). Each box has a pair of terminals available for measurement. You cannot open the boxes. You may make any electrical measurements at the terminals. You also have access to the outside surface of the boxes. Can you determine which box contains the Thevenin Equivalent and which box contains the Norton Equivalent? Or is it impossible to determine which circuit in which box? Justify your answer in detail.

Answer:

1. Measure the temperature of the boxes and leave them unconnected.

2. Norton reduces his circuit down to a single resistance in parallel with a constant current source. A real-life Norton equivalent circuit would be continuously wasting power (as heat) as the current source dumps energy into the resistor, even when externally unconnected, while a Thevenin equivalent circuit would sit there doing nothing.

3. The Norton equivalent box would get warm and eventually run out of power. The Thevenin equivalent box would stay at ambient temperature.

Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

The answer is "\bold{W_{in} = 645.434573 \ Btu}".

Explanation:

Its air enthalpy is obtained only at a given temperature by A-17E.

The solution from the carbon cycle is acquired:

\to \Delta U= W_{in}-m_{out}h_{out}=0\\\\\to W_{in} = (m_1 - m_2)h

           =\frac{Vh}{RT}(P_1- P_2)\\\\= \frac{40 \times 138.66}{0.3704\times 580}(50-25) Btu\\\\= \frac{5,546.4}{214.832}(25) Btu\\\\= 25.8173829(25) Btu\\\\ =645.434573 Btu

W_{in} = 645.434573 \ Btu

20. What is a "whipping motion and why is it<br> used?
Reptile [31]
Whipping is done in a forward direction. You deposit a dab or puddle of metal down, and then whip the rod forward and up a little to let that dab cool a bit, then you move back and deposit another dab slightly ahead of the previous dab.
Cellulose rod like 6010 and 6011 are known as "fast freeze" electrodes, also known to be deep penetrating rods. The "whip and stitch" motion is used so that you get the full benefit of the cellulose characteristics. The forward motion basically gouges out the base metal, and it gets filled in with the back-step.
Hope this helped:)

If coolant is mixed 50-50 with water, what is the freezing point?
sashaice [31]

Answer:

-35 degrees F

When mixed in equal parts with water (50/50), antifreeze lowers the freezing point to -35 degrees F and raises the boiling temperature to 223 degrees F. Antifreeze also includes corrosion inhibitors to protect the engine and cooling system against rust and corrosion.
