Answer:

764.7 N/C, the direction is upward

Explanation:

E electric field of  the electron = F / charge

F force of the electron = Eq

acceleration of the body = change in velocity / time = 140 m / 2.10 s = 66.67 m/s² since the electron is from rest.

F upward = F of electron - force of gravity

F upward = Eq - mg

ma = Eq -mg

divide through with m

a = E (q/m) - g

(a + g) / (q/m) = E

(66.67 + 9.8) / 0.100 = 764.7 N/C, the direction is upward

Lena [83]

Answer:

6.77 m/s

Explanation:

First, in the x direction:

Given:

Δx = 3.17 m

v₀ = v cos 30.8° = 0.859 v

a = 0 m/s²

Δx = v₀ t + ½ at²

(3.17 m) = (0.859 v) t + ½ (0 m/s²) t²

3.17 = 0.859 v t

3.69 = v t

Next, in the y direction:

Given:

Δy = 0.432 m

v₀ = v sin 30.8° = 0.512 v

a = -9.81 m/s²

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

(0.432 m) = (0.512 v) t + ½ (-9.81 m/s²) t²

0.432 = 0.512 v t − 4.905 t²

Two equations, two variables.  Solve for t in the first equation and substitute into the second equation:

t = 3.69 / v

0.432 = 0.512 v (3.69 / v) − 4.905 (3.69 / v)²

0.432 = 1.89 − 66.8 / v²

66.8 / v² = 1.458

v² = 45.8

v = 6.77

The cable of a crane is lifting a 950 kg girder. The girder increases its speed from 0.25 m/s to 0.75 m/sin a distance of 5.5m
Umnica [9.8K]

Explanation:

a) How much work is done by gravity?

  • w = f x d
  • w = 950 x 10 x 5.5 = 52250j

b) How much work is done by tension?

  • v²=u²+2as
  • 0.75²=0.25²+2a x5.5
  • 0.56=0.06+2a x5.5
  • 2a x5.5 = 0.56 - 0.06
  • 2a x 5.5 =0.5
  • 11a=0.5
  • a = 0.5/11 = 0.05m/s²

w = f x d

w = 950 x 0.05 x 5.5 = 261.25j

The nucleus of most atoms is composed of which of the following sub-atomic particles? (A) tightly packed neutrons
solmaris [256]

Answer:

(B) tightly packed protons and neutrons

Explanation:

  • Nucleus of any atom is the dense central part of any atom.
  • It consists of two sub-atomic particle namely proton and neutron.
  • These sub-atomic parts are tightly packed in nucleus which makes the nucleus dense .
  • This dense nucleus is responsible for most of the mass of atom.
  • The atomic mass for any atom is decided by sum of  the mass of proton and neutron

Thus, correct answer is

(B) tightly packed protons and neutrons
