A diamond with a mass of 45 g hangs motionless from a chain. what is the upward force of the chain on the diamond?

Physics
1 answer:
BARSIC [14]4 years ago
7 0
The upward force of the chain on the diamond would be the tension in the chain, and this tension would have to support the weight of the 45g that hangs from the chain.

mass = 45 g = 45/1000 kg = 0.045kg

Weight = mg = 0.045 * 10 ≈ 0.45N,            g ≈ 10 m/s²

So the upward force is ≈ 0.45N.

How is modeling useful in studying the structure of the atom?
Mandarinka [93]

Modelling the structure of the atom is important because modeling replaces the real system with something similar but easier to examine. Option B

What is modeling?

A model is a representation of reality. We know that a model could help us to recreate reality in a manner that we could be able to relate fully with it. A model could be used also a means of explanation.

The atomic models that we have usually help us to understand more abut the atom. Therefore, modelling the structure of the atom is important because modeling replaces the real system with something similar but easier to examine. Option B

Skater N, 58.9 kg, is moving north at a speed of 7.8 m/s when she collides with Skater E, 72.6 kg, moving east at 3.5 m/s. The t
Alik [6]

The direction of the skaters after the collision is 61 degrees.

Momentum of the skaters

The momentum of the skaters is calculated as follows;

P(N) = 58.9 x 7.8 = 459.42 kgm/s

P(E) = 72.6 x 3.5 = 254.1 kgm/s

Direction of the skaters after collision

The direction of the skaters after the collision is calculated as follows;

\theta = tan^{-1} (\frac{459.42}{254.1} )\\\\\theta = 61^ 0

Thus, the direction of the skaters after the collision is 61 degrees.
