Freezing point is the temperature at which a substance undergoes a phase transition from liquid to solid state. Water converts from liquid state to solid ice at a temperature of 0^{0}C.

Mass is the amount of matter contained in a substance. The SI unit of mass is kilogram. 1 kilogram is equal to 1000 g. One kilogram is defined as the mass of one cubic decimeter of water at the freezing point of water.

In one experiment 7.62 g of Fe are allowed to react with 8.67 g of S
vichka [17]

calculate moles of both reagents given and the moles of FeS that each of them would form if they were in excess

moles = mass / molar mass

moles Fe = 7.62 g / 55.85 g/mol

= 0.1364 moles

1 mole Fe produces 1 mole FeS

Therefore 7.62 g Fe can form 0.1364 moles FeS

moles S = 8.67 g / 32.07 g/mol

= 0.2703 moles S

1 mole S can from 1 moles FeS

So 8.67 g S can produce 0.2703 moles FeS

The limiting reagent is the one that produces the least product. So Fe is limiting.

The maximum amount of FeS possible is from complete reaction of all the limiting reagent.

We have already determined that the Fe can form up to 0.1364 moles of FeS, so this is max amount of FeS you can get.

Convert to mass

hope this helps :)

What will happen to the chemical equilibrium if NH4Cl is added to this solution?
Tresset [83]
The answer to this item depends entirely to the chemical reaction. If the compound, NH4Cl, is in the left hand side of the reaction, when it is added, the reaction will shift to the left. In the same manner, when the compound is in the right-hand side of the reaction, the reaction will shift to the right.

This happens because initially the reaction is in equilibrium and adding another compound to it will most likely lead to the shifting of the reaction.

Gold has a density of 19.32 g/mL. If its mass is 56.94 grams what is its volume? (BE SURE TO SHOW ALL THREE PARTS:
Alja [10]

Answer:

2.95 mL

Explanation:

The volume of a substance when given the density and mass can be found by using the formula

volume = \frac{mass}{density} \\

From the question we have

volume = \frac{56.94}{19.32} \\ = 2947204...

We have the final answer as

2.95 mL

Hope this helps you

Elis [28]

Answer:

It is commonly believed that the Catholic Church persecuted Galileo for abandoning ... Thus Galileo did not prove the theory by the Aristotelian standards of science in his day. ... If we believe Relativity, science never *can* disprove them. ... If you correctly report the findings of Fr. Spitzer, then he is wrong.
