C₆H₆ + 3H₂ → C₆H₁₂

Benzene + 3 molecules of hydrogen = cyclohexane

So essentially what happens is that benzene contains three double bonds and when reacted with hydrogen then these three double bonds can be broken and the hydrogen bond to the tetravalent carbon to restore its for bonds forming cyclohexane

Describe what happens to the electrons when sodium and chlorine combine to make NaCl.
kiruha [24]
When a sodium atom transfers an electron to a chlorine atom, forming a sodium cation (Na+) and a chloride anion (Cl-), both ions have complete valence shells, and are energetically more stable. The reaction is extremely exothermic, producing a bright yellow light and a great deal of heat energy.

A laboratory analysis of an unknown sample yields 40.5% carbon, 4.5% hydrogen, and 55.0% oxygen. if the sample has a molar mass
den301095 [7]
Answer is: molecular formula is C₆H₈O₆.
n(C) = m(C) ÷ M(C).
n(C) = 40,5 g ÷ 12 g/mol.
n(C) = 3,375 mol.
n(H) = m(H) ÷ M(H).
n(H) = 4,5 g ÷ 1 g/mol.
n(H) = 4,5 mol.
n(O) = m(O) ÷ M(O).
n(O) = 55 g ÷ 16 g/mol.
n(O) = 3,4 mol.
n(C) : n(H) : n(O) = 3,375 mol : 4,5 mol : 3,4 mol / :3,375.
n(C) : n(H) : n(O) = 1 : 1,33 : 1.
n(C) : n(H) : n(O) = 3 : 4 : 3.
M(C₃H₄O₃) = 88 g/mol · 2 = 176 g/mol.

Why is the periodic table such as useful tool for chemist?
Tomtit [17]
The periodic table is useful tool for chemist since we can see what is the atomic and mass number for each atom.

Atomic number is equal to how many protons and electrons in it

Mass number is equal to protons + Neutrons.

Which of the following reactions is spontaneous?
AveGali [126]
Answer is: lumps os sugar dissolving in water.
Sugar has very good solubility in water and it dissolves readily, which is example of a physical change.
Gibbs free energy (G) determines if reaction will proceed spontaneously, if ΔG is negative, reaction is spontaneous (ΔG = ΔH - T·ΔS).
In other examples, reactions are spontaneous in reverse way, for example spontaneous is forming sodium chlorine from sodium metal and chlorine gas, but not sodium chloride forming sodium metal and chlorine gas, because a lot of energy is needed for that reaction.
