Two inductors, L1 and L2, are in parallel. L1 has a value of 25 mH and L2 a value of 50 mH. The parallel combination is in serie

s with L3, a 20 mH coil. The entire combination is across an ac source of 60 Vrms at 300 kHz. The total rms current is

Answer:

Explanation:

For parallel inductors ,

\frac{1}{L_R} = \frac{1}{L_1} +\frac{1}{L_2}

\frac{1}{L_R} =\frac{1}{25} +\frac{1}{50}

L_R=16.67 mH.

For series combination

Total inductance

= 16.67 + 20

= 36.67 mH .

reactance of total inductance at 300 kHz

= ωL_{total} where ω is angular frequency

= 2πfL_{total}

= 2 x 3.14 x 300 x 10³ x 36.67 x 10⁻³

= 69.1 x 10³ ohm

Total rms current = Vrms / reactance

= 60 / 69.1 x 10³ A

= .87 x 10⁻³ A

= .87 mA

A container is filled with an ideal diatomic gas to a pressure and volume of P1 and V1, respectively. The gas is then warmed in
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

The  change is as follows

P₁ V₁ to 3P₁, V₁ ( constt volume )  --- first process

3P₁,V₁ to 3P₁ , 5V₁ ( constt pressure ) ---- second process

In the first process Temperature must have been increased 3 times . So if initial temperature is T₁ then final temperature will be 3 T₁

P₁V₁ = n R T₁ , n is no of moles of gas enclosed.

nRT₁ = P₁V₁

Heat added at constant volume  = n Cv ( 3T₁ - T₁)

= n x 5/3 R X 2T₁ ( for diatomic gas Cv = 5/3 R)

= 10/3 x nRT₁

= 10/3x P₁V₁

In the second process,  Temperature must have been increased 5 times . So if initial temperature is 3T₁ then final temperature will be 15 T₁

Heat added at constant pressure in second case

= n Cp ( 15T₁ - 3T₁)

= n x 7/3 R X 12T₁ ( For diatomic gas Cp = 7/3 R)

= 28 x nRT₁

= 28 P₁V₁

A bar magnet is cut in half, as shown.
Feliz [49]

Answer:

NS/NS

Explanation:

If we cut a bar magnet in half pieces according to the image that is given below the question, then the magnet will show NS/NS that is (North-South/North-South) because the smaller pieces of the magnet will become a small magnet with the same property-carrying both the poles, north pole as well as south pole. The poles will not be separated.
