Answer:

The correct answer is option B. positively charged.

Explanation:

A positively charged ion is an atom that readily loses its one or more electrons in a compound. Positively charged ion generally has same number of electrons and protons which means they are neutral charge atom. These atoms are generally attracted to negatively charged ion that lack electron in outer shell.

Thus, the correct answer is option. B. positively charged.

It is a positively charges because when an atom gives up electrons it becomes positively charges. Think of it like this.....its being generous so it deserves to be a positive person. ;D.
It cant be A. because a covalent bond only shares and doesn't give up electrons. Our answer must be an ion.
Its not negatively charged because it didn't gain any.

So our answer is B. positively charged

What is a possible quantum number set for an electron in the 2s orbital of a beryllium (Be) atom?
Artist 52 [7]

Answer is: 2,0,0,±1/2.

1) n = 1. The principal quantum number (n) is one of four quantum numbers which are assigned to each electron in an atom to describe that electron's state.

2) l = 0. The azimuthal quantum number is a quantum number for an atomic orbital that determines its orbital angular momentum and describes the shape of the orbital.

3) ml = 0. Magnetic quantum number specify orientation of electrons in magnetic field and number of electron states (orbitals) in subshells.

Magnetic quantum number (ml) specifies the orientation in space of an orbital of a given energy and shape . Magnetic quantum number divides the subshell into individual orbitals which hold the electrons, there are 2l+1 orbitals in each subshell.

4) The spin quantum number, ms, is the spin of the electron; ms = +1/2 or -1/2.

Diana raises a 1000. N piano a distance of 5.00 m using a set of pulleys. She pulls
Alina [70]

Answer:

a) 250 N

b) 50 N

c) 5000 J

d) 4

e) 3.33

Explanation:

Given that weight of piano (F_r) = 1000 N, distance moved by pulley (d_r) = 5 m and the rope used (d_e) =20 m

a) The effort applied (F_e) if it was an ideal machine is:

F_e=\frac{F_rd_r}{d_e} = \frac{1000*5}{20}=250N

b) If the actual effort  = 300 N

The force to overcome friction = actual effort - F_e = 300 - 250 = 50 N

c) Work output = F_rd_r=1000*5=5000J

d) ideal mechanical  advantage (IMA) = \frac{d_e}{d_r} =\frac{20}{5} = 4

e) Input force = 300 N, Therefore:

actual mechanical advantage = F_r / input force = 1000 / 300 = 3.33
