A. what is atmospheric pressure?
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

<em>What is atmospheric pressure? -------> Atmospheric pressure is a force in an area pushed against a surface by the weight of the atmosphere of Earth, a layer of air.</em>

<em>Why does the atmosphere exert pressure? -------> Because gas particles in the air—like particles of all fluids—are constantly moving and bumping into things, so they exert pressure. </em>

<em>What is the value of atmospheric pressure at sea level, in newtons per square centimeter? -------> Atmospheric pressure at sea level is about 10 N/cm2 or 100 kPa or about 10 m of water or about 760 mm of mercury, but varies with the weather, and of course altitude.</em>

<em>I hope this helps and have a great day!</em>

. Sulfur dioxide can be produced in the laboratory by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and a sulfite salt such as sodium sulfit
shutvik [7]

Answer:

Mass of SO₂ can be made from 25.0 g of Na₂SO₃ and 22 g of HCl = 12.672 g

Explanation:

SO₂( sulfur dioxide) can be produced in the lab. by the reaction of hydrochloric acid & sulphite salt such as sodium.

        the balanced chemical equation is as follows

                       Na₂SO₃ + 2 HCl → 2 NaCl + SO₂ + H₂O

Moles of Na₂SO₃ = \frac{Mass}{Molecular mass} =\frac{25}{126} = 0.198

Moles of HCl = \frac{mass}{molecular mass}=\frac{22}{36.5}= 0.6

using mole ratio method to find limiting reagent

      For sodium sulfite \frac{mole}{stoichiometry}  = \frac{0.198}{1}= 0.198

 for HCl \frac{mole}{stoichiometry}  = \frac{0.6}{2}= 0.3

since <u>sodium sulfite</u> is <u>limiting reactant</u> for above chemical reaction

1 mole of Na₂SO₃ produce 1 mole of SO₂

0.198 mole of Na₂SO₃ produce 0.198 mole of SO₂

∴ Mass of SO₂ produce = mole x molar mass of SO₂

                                       = 0.198 x 64

                                       = 12.672 g

Two isotopes of hydrogen fuse to form a neutron plus the larger element,A) beryllium.B) carbon.C) deuterium.D) helium.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:  D) helium.

Explanation:

Nuclear fission is a process which involves the conversion of a heavier nuclei into two or more small and stable nuclei along with the release of energy.

_{92}^{235}\textrm{U}+_0^1\textrm{n}\rightarrow _{56}^{143}Ba+_{36}^{90}Kr+3_0^1\textrm{n}

Nuclear fusion is a process which involves the conversion of two small nuclei to form a heavy nuclei along with release of energy.

Example: _1^2\textrm{H}+_1^3\textrm{H}\rightarrow _2^4\textrm{He}+_0^1\textrm{n}+\text{energy}

Thus when deuterium and tritium , the two isotopes of hydrogen are fused, a heavier nuclei helium is being formed from two smaller nuclei releasing a neutron.
