There is a lot of talk about pH and shampoos. Some shampoos claim they balance the pH in your hair, others say they are alkaline

and others say they are neutral or match the "natural" pH of your hair. What do you think that this means? Do you think the pH of your shampoo affects the condition of your hair? Why or why not? *

Answer:Yes it affects the conditions of the hair.

Explanation:most shampoos have pH values higher than the pH of the hair shaft of 3.6 and also higher than the pH of the hair scalp of 5.5. Therefore the usage of hair shampoo with pH values above 5.5 may likely increase the rate of friction which may cause hair breakage and facilitate hair tangling.

What are the parts of the water system? Label the water wheel to show the matter and forms energy that flow through the system.
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

Source, processing and distribution are the components of water system.

Explanation:

There are three parts of water system i. e. the source, the processing and distribution. Water is extracted from a source such as underground water, lake or river etc. After extraction this water is transported to the processing unit where it can be purified and after purification it is distributed to all places where it is needed. Potential energy is a form of energy that flows through this water system because the water is extracted from a depth and we know that depth and height refers to potential energy.

Identify the type of reaction described in the sentence below. then, write a chemical equation. be sure to specify the states of
natulia [17]

Answer : The type of reaction described in the sentence is Synthesis or Combination

Explanation :

The balanced equation for the reaction between Phosphorous and Oxygen gas can be written as

4P (s) + 5O_{2} (g) ------>  P_{4} O_{10}  (s)

From the above equation we can see that there are two different reactants ( P and O₂ ) which are combining with each other to give a single product.

This type of reaction is known as Combination or Synthesis.

A general form of Synthesis reaction is given below.

A + B ---->  AB

Here we can conclude that a synthesis / combination reaction is the one where 2 or more reactants combine together to give only one product .

Will lead (Pb) react with HgSO4?
lora16 [44]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

The electrochemical series can be used to check if a particular element has a greater activity than the other. Firstly, on the electrochemical series, it can be seen that lead is at a higher position compared to mercury. All things being equal, it will show a higher activity than mercury and hence can knock it off its salt.

Although it is the Overall standard electrode potential that tells us if a reaction is feasible or not, we can use the activity series to quickly discern if the reaction is possible or not. The overall standard electrode potential of both is positive which makes the reaction to be feasible and hence lead can display mercury off its salt
