You are upgrading an amusement park ride by adding a circular loop to an existing roller coaster ride. The first hill for the ex

isting roller coaster is 55 m tall, and you are asked to build, right at the bottom of this hill, the tallest loop possible without having the cars fall out of the track or the passengers fall out of the cars. The roller coaster starts from rest at the top of the hill. What is the maximum radius for the loop?

Answer:

110m

Explanation:

We need first have a couple of equation to give a relation between the maximum force and the centrifugal foce.

We know that the maximum force F=mg, that is the condition for the coster to just stay on the track.

In the other hand we know that the centrifugal force is given by,

F= \frac{mv^2}{g}

where r is the radius of the loop and v the velocity of the coaster.

Assume that both equation are equal, then

\frac{mv^2}{r} = mg

The velocity of the coaster is given by,

v= \sqrt{2gh}

Where h=55m and g=9.8m/s^2

Replacing

v=\sqrt{2(9.8)(55)}

v= 32.833m/s

The maximus radius of the loop is,

\frac{mv^2}{r}=mg

r=\frac{v^2}{g} = \frac{32.83^2}{9.8}=110m

A small block with a mass of 0.0600 kg is attached to a cord passing through a hole in a frictionless, horizontal surface (Figur
pogonyaev

Answer with Explanation:

We are given that mass of block=0.0600 kg

Initial speed of block=0.63 m/s

Distance of block  from the hole when the block is revolved=0.47 m

Final speed=3.29 m/s

Distance of block  from the hole when the block is revolved=9\times 10^{-2}m

a.We have to find the tension in the cord in the original situation when the block has speed =v_0=0.63 m/s

T=\frac{mv^2}{r}

Because tension is equal to centripetal force

Substitute the values

T=\frac{0.06\times (0.63)^2}{0.47}=0.05 N

b.v=3.29 m/s

T=\frac{mv^2}{r}=\frac{0.06\times (3.29)^2}{0.09}=7.2 N

c.Work don=Final K.E-Initial K.E

W=\frac{1}{2}m(v^2-v^2_0)

W=\frac{1}{2}(0.06)((3.29)^2-(0.63)^2)

W=0.31 J

What is the relationship between the acceleration of an object change in relation to its mass
yarga [219]

The relationship between mass and acceleration is an inverse proportionality

Explanation:

The relationship between the acceleration of an object and its mass is given by Newton's second law, which states that:

F=ma

where

F is the net force on the object

m is its mass

a is its acceleration

From the equation, we notice that if the force on the object is kept constant, then the mass and the acceleration are inversely proportional to each other. This means that:

  • If the mass of the object is increased, its acceleration will decrease
  • If the mass of the object is decreased, its acceleration will increase

(b) Show that for certain incident energies there is 100 percent transmission. Suppose that we model an atom as a one-dimensiona
bixtya [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

100 persent transmission implies that the T=1

Therefore using the previous result we have

1+\frac{\sin^2\sqrt{\frac{2m}{\hbar^2}(E+V_0)}a}{4\frac{E}{V_0}\frac{(E+V_0)}{V_0}}=1

\sin\sqrt{\frac{2m}{\hbar^2}(E+V_0)}a=0\Rightarrow \sqrt{\frac{2m}{\hbar^2}(E+V_0)}=0\Rightarrow E=-V_0

The depth of the well for 100% transmission should be

V_0=-0.7~{\rm{eV}}
