An archer standing on a 15 degree slope shoots an arrow at an angle of 26 degrees above the horizontal. How far below its origin

al point of release does the arrow hit if it is shot with a speed of 33 m/s from a height of 1.88 m above the ground?

Answer:

The arrow will hit 112.07 m from the point of release.

Explanation:

The equation for the position of an object in a parabolic movement is as follows:

r = (x0 + v0 · t · cos α, y0 + v0 · t · sin α + 1/2 · g · t²)

Where:

x0 = initial horizontal position

v0 = initial velocity

α = launching angle

y0 = initial vertical position

t = time

g = acceleration due to gravity

We know that at the final time the y-component of the vector "r" (see figure") is -1.88 m. The x-component of that vector will be the horizontal distance traveled by the arrow. Using the equation of the y-component of "r", we can obtain the final time and with that time we can calculate the value of the x-component (horizontal distance).

Then:

y = y0 + v0 · t · sin α + 1/2 · g · t²

Since the origin of the frame of reference is located at the point where the arrow is released, y0 = 0. Notice that the angle α = 26° + 15° = 41° ( see figure)

-1.88 m = 33 m/s · sin 41° · t - 1/2 · 9.8 m/s² · t²    (g is downward)

0 = -4.9 m/s² · t² + 33 m/s · sin 41° · t + 1.88 m

Solving the quadratic equation:

t = 4.5 s   ( the negative value is discarded)

Now, with this time we can calculate the horizontal distance:

x = x0 + v0 · t · cos α    (x0 = 0, the same as y0)

x = 33 m/s · 4.5 s · cos 41° = 112.07 m

A 20 kg wagon is rolling to the right across a floor. A person attempts to catch and stop the crate and applies a force of 70 N,
Serggg [28]

Answer:

1.736m/s²

Explanation:

According to Newton's second law;

\sum F_x = ma_x\\

Fm - Ff = ma_x\\ where;

Fm is the moving force = 70.0N

Ff is the frictional force acting on the body

Ff = \mu R\\Ff = \mu mg\\

\mu is the coefficient of friction

m is the mass of the object

g is the acceleration due to gravity

a is the acceleration/deceleration

The equation becomes;

Fm - Ff = ma_x\\Fm - \mu mg = ma\\

Substitute the given parameters

Fm - \mu mg = ma\\70 - 0.18(20)(9.8) = 20a\\70-35.28 = 20a\\34.72 = 20a\\a = \frac{34.72}{20}\\a =  1.736m/s^2\\

Hence the deceleration rate of the wagon as it is caught is 1.736m/s²

The process of digestion breaks down proteins into smaller molecules that are used to rebuild other proteins. During digestion, proteins undergo chemical changes.

<u>Option: D</u>

<u>Explanation:</u>

Proteins are broken down into amino acids considered the foundational element. When issued, these tiny molecules can then be consumed into the bloodstream via the gut wall. An enzyme is a protein which can regulate biochemical response rate. An enzyme integrates a water molecule around the bond in enzymatic hydrolysis processes which allows it to split.

The bonds which hold together the amino acids are recognized as peptide bonds. A hydrolysis process comparable to that included in splitting up carbohydrates is required to break the peptide bonds within a protein. Enzymes identified as proteases are required for the protein to disintegrate.

Forces can act on an object in the same direction or in opposite. how does each situation affect the motion of the object?
Anon25 [30]

Hi pupil here's your answer ::

➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡

Action and Reaction do not act on the same body !! If they acted on the same body, the resultant force will be zero and their could be never accelerated motion.

If both the forces acted on the same body, then if they are equal to opposite direction the object will remain stationary. If on of the forces is greater than other the object will move in the direction of greater force.

If both acted in the same direction there would be an accelrated motion.
