Answer:

    Percent yield =  57.7 %

Explanation:

Given Data:

moles of iron(III) bromide = 6.37 mol

actual yield of iron(III) sulfide  = 1.84 mole

percent yield for iron(III) sulfide = ?

Reaction Given

                 2 FeBr₃ + 3 Na₂S ------------> Fe₂S₃+ 6 NaBr

Solution:

First we have to know the theoretical yield

We Know the Information given in the reaction

                         2 FeBr₃ + 3 Na₂S ------------> Fe₂S₃+ 6 NaBr

                         2 mol         3 mol                   1 mol

Now,

if two mole of iron(III) bromide (FeBr₃) give 1 mole of iron(III) sulfide (Fe₂S₃)

Then how many moles of Fe₂S₃ will be produced if 6.37 moles of FeBr₃ will be used

Apply the unity formula

                            2 mol  of   FeBr₃     ≅  1 mol of Fe₂S₃

                              6.37 mol  of FeBr₃ ≅  ? mol of Fe₂S₃

By doing cross multiplication

                          no. of mol of Fe₂S₃ = 1 mol x 6.37 mol/ 2 mol

                           no. of mol of Fe₂S₃ = 3.185 mol

So,

The theoretical yield is 3.19 mol

Formula Used to find Percent yield

             Percent yield = Actual yield/ theoretical yield x 100%

Now put all values in above equation

          Percent yield = 1.84 mol / 3.19 yield x 100 %

          Percent yield =  0.577x 100%

          Percent yield =  57.7 %

So the Percent yield of Iron(III) Sulfide =  57.7 %

Which ion has the same electron configuration as an atom of He?
mariarad [96]

Answer;

H- (negatively charged hydrogen ion)

Explanation;

The hydrogen ion has the same electron configuration as an atom of Helium. -Hydrogen ion is formed when a hydrogen atom loses or gains an electron. A positively charged ion is formed when hydrogen atom loses an electron (remaining with zero electrons) while a negatively charged ion (H-) is formed when a hydrogen atom gains an electron thus having 2 electrons.

-Helium atom has two electrons, therefore, it is similar with an negatively charged hydrogen.

Is Na2SO4 ionic or covalent
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer: What types of bonds exist between the atoms in a molecule of sodium sulfate, Na2SO4 ? The formula for this compound can be written as [Na+]2[SO42-], the sulfate anion is formed by covalent bonding between sulfur and oxygen. Since there is a bond polarity to a S-O bond these are polar covalent bonds.

Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) is commercially known as baking soda. How many grams and atoms of oxygen are there in 15 grams of so
ella [17]

Answer:

3 atoms of O

8.57g

Explanation:

The problem here is to find the mass of oxygen in the compound and the number of atoms of oxygen.

 The formula of the compound is:

 NaHCO₃;

   Here we have:

      1 atom of Na

     1 atom of H

     1 atom of C

     3 atoms of O

So there are 3 atoms of O

To find the mass of oxygen , we use the molar mass of oxygen;

     Molar mass of oxygen  = 16g/mol

 Mass of oxygen  = \frac{3(16)}{84.01}  x 15  = 8.57g

Answer:

compound

Explanation:

MgO is an inorganic compund :) The simplest explanation is that it's not an element b/c there's two elements (Mg & O) in the substance, and it's not a mixture b/c you can't easily separate the two elements.
