Agri-Chem's contract with Enerco specified a maximum of 90,000 cu.ft. X 103 per day for its complexes. However, curtailments are

projected to be based on actual usage rather than contractual maximums. The current natural gas usage is 85,680 cu. ft. x 103 per day. Enerco projects curtailments in the range of 20 to 40 percent. 1. Which of Agri-Chem's complexes would be least affected by a gas curtailment?

Answer:

Caustic soda would be least affected by a gas curtailment

Explanation:

Let,

X1= ammonia

X2= ammonium phosphate

X3= ammonium nitrate

X4 = Urea

X5= hydro-fluoric acid

X6= Chlorine

X7= Caustic soda

X8= Vinyl chloride monomer.

Agri chem’s current natural gas usage

= (1200 × 8 + 540 × 10 + 490 × 12 + …)

= 85,680,000 cu. ft. per day

When, the curtailment is 20%, availability is

= 0.8 X  85,680

= 68,554,000 cu. ft. per day

Therefore, the gas constant

= 8X1 + 10X2 + 12X3 + 12X4 + 7X5 + 18X6 + 20X7 + 14X8 ≤68,544

When, the curtailment is 40% availability is

= 0.6 X 85,680

= 51,408,000 cu. ft. per day

Constant = 8X1 + 10X2 + 12X3 + 12X4 + 7X5 + 18X6 + 20X7 + 14X8≤ 51,408

An atom emits a photon when one of its electrons:
disa [49]

Answer:

undergoes a transition to a quantum state of lower energy

Explanation:

When electrons in an atom move to another quantum state, they emit/absorb a photon according to the following:

- If the electron is moving to a higher energy state, it absorbs a photon (because it needs energy to move to a higher energy level, so it must absorb the energy of the photon)

- if the electron is moving to a lower energy state, it emits a photon (because it releases the excess energy)

In particular, the energy of the absorbed/emitted photon is exactly equal to the difference in energy between the two levels of the electron transition:

E=|E_1 - E_2|

Why is the rock cycle really a cycle?
Naddik [55]
The rock cycle is a group of changes that describes the formation, breakdown, and reformation of a rock as a result of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic processes. All rocks are made up of minerals. Volcanic processes form extrusive igneous rocks. Extrusive rocks cool quickly on or very near the surface of the earth.

How does the long-run equilibrium for a monopolistically competitive market differ from the long-run equilibrium for a perfect
Katen [24]

Answer and Explanation:

The main difference between monopolistic competition and perfect competitive market are given bellow

Excess capacity : There is constantly an overabundance limit in monopolistic challenge and not in the ideal challenge. Over the long haul, superbly aggressive firms produce at the proficient scale,where as monopolistically focused firms produce beneath this level. Firms are said to have abundance limit under monopolistic challenge. As it were, a monopolistically focused firm, in contrast to a splendidly aggressive firm, could build the amount it delivers and lower the normal all out expense of generation.

Markup over marginal cost:   the another distinction between flawless challenge and monopolistic challenge is the connection among cost and minor expense. At an aggressive firm consistently cost equivalents negligible expense. Where as, in monopolistically aggressive firm, cost surpasses minimal expense becouse the firm consistently have some market control.

If an object is projected upward from ground level with an initial velocity of 160 ft per sec, then its height in feet after t
sesenic [268]

Answer:

Time will be 5 sec

And maximum height will be 1200 feet

Explanation:

We have given that initial velocity of the object u = 160 ft/sec'

Function of height s(t)=-16t^2+160t

Take derivative of the distance

We know that first derivative of distance is velocity

So v(t)=-32t+160

At maximum height we know that velocity is zero

So -32t+160=0

t = 5 sec

So it will take 5 sec to reach maximum height

Now maximum height will occur at t = 5 sec

So maximum height = 16\times 5^2+160\times 5=1200feet
