A laser produces red light of wavelength 632.8 nm. Calculate the energy,
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

189.2 KJ

Explanation:

Data Given

wavelength of the light = 632.8 nm

Convert nm to m

1 nm = 1 x 10⁻⁹

632.8 nm = 632.8 x 1 x 10⁻⁹ = 6.328 x 10⁻⁷m

Energy of 1 mole of photon = ?

Solution

Formula used

                     E = hc/λ

where

E = energy of photon

h = Planck's Constant

Planck's Constant = 6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ Js

c = speed of light

speed of light = 3 × 10⁸ ms⁻¹

λ = wavelength of light

Put values in above equation

                   E = hc/λ

                   E = 6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ Js ( 3 × 10⁸ ms⁻¹ / 6.328 x 10⁻⁷m)

                   E = 6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ Js (4.741 x 10¹⁴s⁻¹)

                  E = 3.141 x 10⁻¹⁹J

3.141 x 10⁻¹⁹J is energy for one photon

Now we have to find energy of 1 mole of photon

As we know that

1 mole consists of  6.022 x10²³ numbers of photons

So,

     Energy for one mole photons = 3.141 x 10⁻¹⁹J x  6.022 x10²³

     Energy for one mole photons = 1.89 x 10⁵ J

Now convert J to KJ

1000 J = 1 KJ

1.89 x 10⁵ J = 1.89 x 10⁵ /1000 = 189.2 KJ

So,

energy of one mole of photons = 189.2 KJ

riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

<u><em>Volume of NaOH, aka V2 = 6.32 mL to 3 sig. fig.</em></u>

A chemistry student weighs out 0.0941 g of hypochlorous acid (HClo) into a 250. ml. volumetric flask and dilutes to the mark with distilled water. He plans to titrate the acid with 0.2000 M NaOH solution. Calculate the volume of NaOH solution the student will need to add to reach the equivalence point. Round your answer to 3 significant digits mL.

Explanation:

1 mole HClO = 74.44g

0.0941g = \frac{0.0941}{74.44} = 0.00126 moles

Concentration = no. of moles/volume in L

Hence, Concentration of HClO = 0.00126/ 0.250L

= 0.005M.

C1V1 =C2V2

0.005 × 250 mL = 0.2 × V2

<u><em>Volume of NaOH, aka V2 = 6.32 mL to 3 sig. fig.</em></u>

You have a 2.0 mL sample of acetic acid (molar mass 60.05 g/mol) of unknown concentration. You titrate it to its endpoint with 2
Katyanochek1 [597]

<u>Answer:</u> The mass of acetic acid used is 0.12 grams

<u>Explanation:</u>

To calculate the concentration of acid, we use the equation given by neutralization reaction:

n_1M_1V_1=n_2M_2V_2

where,

n_1,M_1\text{ and }V_1 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of acid which is CH_3COOH

n_2,M_2\text{ and }V_2 are the n-factor, molarity and volume of base which is NaOH.

We are given:

n_1=1\\M_1=?M\\V_1=2.0mL\\n_2=1\\M_2=0.1M\\V_2=20.0mL

Putting values in above equation, we get:

1\times M_1\times 2.0=1\times 0.1\times 20.0\\\\M_1=\frac{1\times 0.1\times 20.0}{1\times 2.0}=1M

To calculate the mass of solute, we use the equation used to calculate the molarity of solution:

\text{Molarity of the solution}=\frac{\text{Mass of solute}\times 1000}{\text{Molar mass of solute}\times \text{Volume of solution (in mL)}}

Given mass of acetic acid = ? g

Molar mass of acetic acid = 60.05 g/mol

Molarity of solution = 1 M

Volume of the solution = 2.0 mL

Putting values in above equation, we get:

1mol/L=\frac{\text{Mass of acetic acid}\times 1000}{60.05g/mol\times 2.0}\\\\\text{Mass of acetic acid}=\frac{1\times 60.05\times 2}{1000}=0.12g

Hence, the mass of acetic acid used is 0.12 grams

Xavier used a chart to list the roles of two different molecules in protein production.
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

Y: tRNA

Z: DNA

Explanation:

This question involves two different nucleic acid molecules that are involved in protein production. Xavier used a chart to highlight the functions these nucleic acids perform during protein synthesis.

- Transfer RNA known as tRNA is a type of RNA molecule found in the ribosomes. It functions to read the mRNA codon and carry corresponding amino acid to the ribosomes for linking with one another. Based on this, "Y" on the chart is a tRNA molecule.

- Deoxyribonucleic acid, also known as DNA, is a molecule found in the NUCLEUS whose function is to store the genetic information in the cell. DNA carries the information needed for the synthesis of protein. Based on this, Z is a DNA molecule.
