a) The bullet will not reach the target

The motion of the bullet follows a parabolic path. First, we have to determine the time it takes for the bullet to reach the ground. We can do it by considering the vertical motion only, which is a free-fall motion, so we can use the equation

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2

where, taking downward as positive direction,

s = 1.5 m is the vertical displacement of the bullet

u = 0 is its initial vertical velocity

t is the time

a=g=9.8 m/s^2 is the acceleration of gravity

Solving for t,

t=\sqrt{\frac{2s}{a}}=\sqrt{\frac{2(1.5)}{9.8}}=0.553 s

So, the bullet lands 0.553 s after being shot.

The bullet is fired horizontally at a speed of

v_x = 1000 m/s

So, the horizontal distance covered during this time is

d=v_x t = (1000)(0.553)=553 m

And since the target is 700 m away, the bullet will not reach it.

b) 553 m

As we stated in the previous part, the bullet takes

t = 0.553 s

To land to the ground.

Also, it travels at

v_x = 553 m/s

Therefore, it lands on the ground at a distance of

d=v_x t=(1000)(0.553)=553 m

4 (JAMB) The diagram below shows a light see-saw, which is balanced horizontally by the weights W₁, W2, W3, W4 in the positions
damaskus [11]

The equation that represents the principle of the lever balance is:

  • W₁ + W₂ = W3 + W4; option A.

What is the principle of moments?

The principle of moments states when a body is in equilibrium, the sum of the clockwise moment about a point equals the sum of anticlockwise moment about that point.

A see-saw represents a balanced system of moments.

The sum of clockwise moment = The sum of anticlockwise moments.

Assuming W1 and W2 are clockwise moments and W3 and W4 are anticlockwise moments.

The equation will b:  W₁ + W₂ = W3 + W4

In conclusion, a balanced see-saw illustrates the principle of the lever balance.

Answer:

Best explains Jamming

Explanation:

The deliberate radiation of electromagnetic (EM) energy to degrade or neutralize the radio frequency long-haul supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) communications links, best explains what?

Jamming is defined as the blocking or interference with authorized wireless communications. it's a problem in personal area network wireless technologies. Jamming can occur inadvertently due to high levels of noise .

Jammers can send radio signals to interfere or disrupt communication flows by by decreasing the signal-to-noise ratio.They use radio frequency to interfere with communications by keeping it busy.

Nresistors, each having resistance equal to 1 2, are arranged in a circuit first in series and then in parallel. What is the rat
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

option (b)

Explanation:

Let the resistance of each resistor is R.

In series combination,

The effective resistance is Rs.

rs = r + R + R + .... + n times = NR

Let V be the source of potential difference.

Power in series

Ps = v^2 / Rs = V^2 / NR ..... (1)

In parallel combination

the effective resistance is Rp

1 / Rp = 1 / R + 1 / R + .... + N times

1 / Rp = N / R

Rp = R / N

Power is parallel

Rp = v^2 / Rp = N V^2 / R    ..... (2)

Divide equation (1) by equation (2) we get

Ps / Pp = 1 / N^2
