Answer:

i.

Mixture are made up of element that are not chemically bonded. (eg. In the air, containing O2, H2, N2 but jot mized together)

Compounds are made up of 2 or more type of atoms that are chemically bonded. (e.g CO2, H20)

ii.

Compound containing 2 elements :

  • aluminium oxide (Al2O3)
  • sodium chloride (NaCl)
  • zinc sulfide (ZnS)

Answer:

Compounds are substances made from atoms of different elements joined by chemical bonds. They can only be separated by a chemical reaction. ... A mixture is made by simply mixing together elements and compounds. No new chemical bonds are formed

compounds containing two elements

sodium chloride

zinc sulfide

aluminium oxide

compounds containing three elements

potassium nitrate

What is the mass in 6.34x10^23 molecules of calcium chloride
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer : The mass of calcium chloride is, 116.84 grams

Solution : Given,

Molar mass of calcium chloride, CaCl_2 = 110.98 g/mole

Number of molecules of calcium chloride = 6.34\times 10^{23}

As we know that,

1 mole of calcium chloride contains 6.022\times 10^{23} molecules of calcium chloride

or,

1 mole of calcium chloride contains 110.98 grams of calcium chloride

Or, we can say that

As, 6.022\times 10^{23} molecules of calcium chloride present in 110.98 grams of calcium chloride

So, 6.34\times 10^{23} molecules of calcium chloride present in \frac{6.34\times 10^{23}}{6.022\times 10^{23}}\times 110.98=116.84grams of calcium chloride

Therefore, the mass of calcium chloride is, 116.84 grams

(I seriously don't understand what this questin means, please don't delete need all the help i can get)
gayaneshka [121]
I've always been told that it's eight. This is only because the atom has to have the saem protons (positively charged) neutrons and electrons (negatively charged). However this does not occur with all atoms. :)

Provide an example of a substance with non-polar bonds
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

Tin (IV) chloride (SnCl4)...Methane(CH4)

Explanation:

all the dipole moments of the bonds tend to cancel each other out...hence leaving the substance non-polar

Look at the data table and graph for the 25-coil electromagnet. With the 1.5 V battery, the
Margarita [4]
Answer a:
A 1.5 V battery, the electromagnet picked up an average of 6 paper clips, while with the 6.0 V battery, an average of 23 paper clips were picked up. Battery of 6.0V is 6.0/1.5 = 4 times stronger than battery of 1.5 V

Answer b:
Ratio of the number of paper clips picked up using the 6.0 V battery to the number picked up using the 1.5 V battery is = 23/6 = 3.8 ≈ 4.

Answer c:
As the voltage power increase, more paper clips were picked up by electromagnet. This indicated that there is a direct relationship. Mathematically it can be expressed as:

Voltage Power α Number of paper clips that were picked up

How many moles of Manganese there in are 5.76 x 10(15) atoms of Mn?
aksik [14]

Answer:

1. 9.57 × 10^-9 moles.

2. 7.38mol

Explanation:

1.) To find the number of moles there are in the number of particles in an atom, we divide the number of particles (nA) by Avagadro's constant (6.02 × 10^23)

Hence, to find the number of moles (n) of Manganese (Mn), we say:

5.76 x 10^15 atoms ÷ 6.02 × 10^23

5.76/6.02 × 10^(15-23)

= 0.957 × 10^-8

= 9.57 × 10^-9 moles.

2.) Mole = mass/molar mass

Molar mass of sodium chloride (NaCl) = 23 + 35.5

= 58.5g/mol

mole = 431.6 g ÷ 58.5g/mol

mole = 7.38mol
