A 0.540-kg bucket rests on a scale. Into this bucket you pour sand at the constant rate of 56.0 g/s. If the sand lands in the bu

Answer:

a) 12.8212 N

b) 12.642 N

Explanation:

Mass of bucket = m = 0.54 kg

Rate of filling with sand  = 56.0 g/ sec = 0.056 kg/s

Speed of sand = 3.2 m/s

g= 9.8 m/sec2

Condition (a);

Mass of sand = Ms = 0.75 kg

So total mass becomes = bucket mass + sand mass = 0.54 +0.75=1.29 kg

== > total weight = 1.29 × 9.8 = 12.642 N

Now impact of sand = rate of filling × velocity = 0.056 × 3.2 =  0.1792 kg. m /sec2=0.1792 N

Scale reading is sum of impact of sand and weight force ;

i-e

scale reading = 12.642 N+0.1792 N = 12.8212 N

Codition (b);

bucket mass + sand mass = 0.54 +0.75=1.29 kg

==>weight = mg = 1.29 × 9.8 = 12.642 N (readily calculated above as well)

vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

f = 0.4 Hz

Explanation:

The frequency of rotation of an object in order to achieve required centripetal or radial acceleration, can be found out by using the following formula:

f = (1/2π)√(ac/r)

where,

f = frequency of rotation = ?

ac = radial acceleration = 34.1 m/s²

r = radius = length of beam = 5.55 m

Therefore,

f = (1/2π)√[(34.1 m/s²)/(5.55 m)]

f = 0.4 Hz

State the dimension of surface tension
Luda [366]

Answer:

Actually, surface tension is the to force per unit length. That means formula for surface tension is = force/length . As we know that the dimensional formula for length is L . And that for force is MLT^-2. So the dimensional formula for surface tension can be obtained by dividing the dimensional formula of force and length.

1. Spring force is proportional to stretch distance, F=kd. Do you expect doubling the stretch distance double the force?
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

The spring force is given as:

          F  = kd

F is the spring force

K is the spring constant

d is the magnitude of the stretch

Since k is a constant, therefore, doubling the stretch distance will double the force.

Both stretch distance and force applied can be said to be directly proportional to one another.

Which statement is true for particles of the medium of an earth quake p wave
katen-ka-za [31]
I am pretty sure that the only statement which is true for particles of the medium of an earthquake P-wave is being shown in the option : b)vibrate parallel to the wave, forming compressions and rarefactions. As you know, it can be formed in two ways : from alternating compressions and rarefactions or primary wave. I bet you will agree with me.
