If a solution is saturated, that means it already posses the maximum number of solutes thus have been dissolved in it, and thus the concentration cannot be increased.

The concentration cannot be increased.

But depending on your level of chemistry, it can be heated with more solute dissolved to create a super-saturated solution after cooling down. But that's not necessary in this question

In the atomic random what units of measurement are used for this trend?
Aleonysh [2.5K]

The atomic radius is a measure of the size of an atom. The atomic radius is defined as one-half the distance between the nuclei of two identical atoms that are bonded together.

r is atomic radius of an atom and d is distance between the nuclei of two identical atoms

Atomic radius is dependent on the type of bond present. Types of bonds can be grouped as five descriptive types.

Ionic bondsCovalent bondsMetallic bondsvan der Waals bondsHydrogen bonds

Units used to measure atomic radius:

Angstroms (Å): This the most common unit used. Equivalent to 1.0 x 10-10 meters.Nanometer (nm): Equivalent to 1.0 x 10-9 meters.Picometer (pm): Equivalent to 1.0 x 10-12 meters.

Period Trends

As you move left-to-right across a period, in general (not including the noble gases), atomic radius decreases.
As you go left-to-right across a period, electrons are added to the same energy level. At the same time, protons are being added to the nucleus increasing positive charge in the nucleus. Increased positive charge in the nucleus pulls the electrons closer to the nucleus resulting in a smaller atomic radius.

Group Trends

As you move down a group, in general, atomic radius increases.
As you move down a group the number of electrons increases, thus increasesing the number of energy levels. The outermost orbital increases in size when you move down the group making the atom larger. Therefore, the atomic radius increases as the group and energy levels increase.

HCN + _
CuSO4 → _
H2SO4 + __Cu(CN)2
kupik [55]

Hey there!

HCN + CuSO₄ → H₂SO₄ + Cu(CN)₂

Balance CN.

1 on the left, 2 on the right. Add a coefficient of 2 in front of HCN.

2HCN + CuSO₄ → H₂SO₄ + Cu(CN)₂

Balance H.

2 on the left, 2 on the right. Already balanced.

Balance SO₄.

1 on the left, 1 on the right. Already balanced.

Balance Cu.

1 on the left, 1 on the right. Already balanced.

Our final balanced equation:

2HCN + CuSO₄ → H₂SO₄ + Cu(CN)₂

Hope this helps!

g at constant temperature, a sample of helium at 2 atm in a closed container was compressed from 5.00 L to 3.00 L. what was the
Firdavs [7]

The new pressure exerted by helium on its container is 2533.33 torr.

Boyle's law: For a fixed amount of an ideal gas kept at a fixed temperature, pressure and volume are inversely proportional. so PV= constant.

At constant temperature and moles,

P1V1 = P2V2.

The original sample is at 2atm torr and volume 5.00 L and then helium gas was compressed to 3.00 L

∴ P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

(2× 760 torr)(5.00 L ) = (3.00 L )(x torr),

x = 2533.33 torr.

P₂ = 2533.33 torr.

Therefore, the new pressure exerted by helium on its container is 2533.33 torr.
