Because polymers are covalently bonded material, and metals are metalicly bonded material.

Covalent bonds do not let atoms exchange electrons like metalic bonds do.

U-235 releases an average of 2.5 neutrons per fission, while Pu-239 releases an average of 2.7 neutrons per fission. Which of th
Komok [63]

Answer:

Pu - 239 have the smaller critical mass.

Explanation:

Critical mass is the smallest amount of certain element of mass that is needed to achieve a nuclear chain reaction early . Since Pu - 239 releases an average of 2.7 neutrons per fission as compared to U - 235 that releases 2.5 neutrons per fission. So, Pu - 239 has smaller critical mass, because Pu - 239 has a higher probability for fission and produces a large no. of neutrons per fission event. Infact of all the basic nuclear fuels, Pu - 239 has smallest critical mass. Critical mass depends on the nuclear properties of elements undergoing fission reaction. Hence, as Pu - 239 produces large no. of neutrons per fission than U - 235 and Pu - 239 has smaller critical mass.

To see how two traveling waves of the same frequency create a standing wave. Consider a traveling wave described by the formula
pentagon [3]

Answer:

Check the explanation

Explanation:

so basically the standing wave will be created by two waves... y1 and the wave reflected, ie, y2=Asin(wt+Kx)..

so the resulting wave will be Y= y1 + y2 = 2A Sin(Kx) Cos(wt) = y(x) y(t)

so y(x)= 2ASin(Kx) and y(t)=Cos(wt)...

Which of the following represents a fully plastic collision? 1. Two billiard balls hit each other then move in opposite directio
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

Option (4)

Explanation:

There are two types of collision.

Perfectly elastic collision: the collision in which the momentum and kinetic energy is conserved. There is no loss of energy in other forms of energy.

Perfectly plastic collision: The collision in which the momentum is conserved and kinetic energy is not conserved. The two bodies stick after the collision.

Here, the bullet hits the block and then embedded in the block, it is the example of plastic collision.
