Answer:

A. Has only one kind of atom

Explanation:

All forms of matter are composed of elements.

An element is a substance which cannot be broken down into simpler units or converted into other substances by ordinary chemical reactions. Each element is composed of only one kind of atoms which are unique to each element. There are three fundamental sub-particles present in atoms of elements; these are: protons, electrons and neutrons. An atom of an element differs from an atom of another element by its atomic number. The atomic number of an element is the number of protons present in the nucleus of the atom of that element. For example, hydrogen atoms has an atomic number of 1, while sodium atoms has an atomic umber of 11.

Atoms of the same element or different elements may combine together to form the molecules of a substance. For example, a molecule of hydrogen gas is made up of two atoms of hydrogen whereas a molecule of water is composed of two atoms of hydrogen and an atom of oxygen.

Elements can exist in any of the three physical states: solids, liquids or gases. For example, hydrogen exists as gas, mercury as a liquid, while gold exists as a solid.

The most common source of copper (Cu) is the mineral chalcopyrite (CuFeS2). How many kilograms of chalcopyrite must be mined to
diamong [38]

Answer:

0.693kg of CuFeS2 is needed to produce 240 grams of Cu.

Explanation:

In 1 mole of CuFeS2 is associated 1 mole of Cu.

Molar mass of CuFeS2 = 183.5 g/mol

Molar mass of Cu = 63.5g/mol

No of moles of copper present in 240g of chalcopyrite = 240/63.5 = 3.779moles

we know

1 mole of Cu → 1 mole of CuFeS2

in 3.779 moles of Cu → 3.779 moles of CuFeS2

3.779 moles of CuFeS2 = 3.779 * 183.5 = 693.45grams

CuFeS2 in kg = 0.693kg

The chemical equation below shows the reaction between carbon dioxide (CO2) and lithium hydroxide (LiOH). CO2 + 2LiOH mc011-1.jp
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
From the given balanced chemical equation,
                            CO2 + 2LiOH --> Li2CO3 + H2O
we can conclude that for every 2 moles of LiOH, we need a mole of CO2. Calculate first the number of moles of CO2 by dividing the given mass by the molar mass giving us an answer of 0.58 moles. Using proportionality,
                             0.58 / x = 1 / 2
The value of x is equal to 1.16 moles.

What is the absolute pressure in compartment d in atm g?
xenn [34]
Atmospheric pressure from barometer = (9810) × (13.6) × (0.720) = 96060 Pa = 96.06 kPa Absolute pressure in compartment A, 496.06 kPa P = P + P abs, A gauge, A atm = 400 + 96.06 = Absolute Pressure from barometer
