Answer:

(a)  The unit cell edge length <u>0.421 nm</u>

Explanation:

Lets calculate -:

Given -

density = 3.58g/cm^3

Molecular weight of MgO = 24.31 +16

                                           40.13 g/mole

Avagadro number = 6.022\times10^2^3

In rock salt structure , there are four anions and four cations , hence Z=4 (Number of formula per unit cell)

Now, using the formula -

                     d=\frac{ZM}{N_Aa^3}

               a=[\frac{ZM}{N_Ad}]]^\frac{1}{3}

Now, putting the given values

   a=\frac{4\times40.13g/mole}{6.022\times10^2^3\times(3.58g/cm^3)}

  4.21\times10^-^8 cm

  = 0.421 nm

<u>Hence , the unit cell edge length = 0.421 nm </u>

How many grams are 3.01 × 1023 molecules of CuSO4?
zvonat [6]
Answer is: 79.8 grams of copper(II) sulfate.
N(CuSO₄) = 3.01·10²³; number of molecules.
n(CuSO₄) = N(CuSO₄) ÷ Na.
n(CuSO₄) = 3.01·10²³ ÷ 6.02·10²³ 1/mol.
n(CuSO₄) = 0.5 mol; amount of substance.
m(CuSO₄) = n(CuSO₄) · M(CuSO₄).
m(CuSO₄) = 0.5 mol · 159.6 g/mol.
m(CuSO₄) = 79.8 g; mass of substance.
M - molar mass.

Na2SO3" represents sodium sulfite. What does the 4 mean in the formula 4Na2SO3? There are four atoms of sodium. There are four a
MArishka [77]

There are 4 atoms of sodium in the formula of sodium sulfite.

<h3 /><h3>Number of atoms at sodium</h3>

There are 4 atoms of sodium in the formula of sodium sulfite because 4 digit is placed before sodium which shows the number of sodium atom present in the molecule while on the other hand, 2 is placed in front of sulfur which tells us that 2 atoms of sulfur is used in the making of sodium sulfite.

<h3>Reasons of war</h3>

In this excerpt, Paine is attempting to convince the readers that we have righteous reasons to justify supporting the war. We should participate and take part in the war in order to defend ourselves and our country but avoid offensive war to gain financial benefits.

What is the mass of an element with 15 protons, 13 electrons, and 11 neutrons? *
RSB [31]

Answer:

The mass of the element is 26.20 amu

Explanation:

In this question, we are asked to calculate the mass of an element with 15 protons, 13 electrons and 11 neutrons

To calculate the atomic mass of the element, we take into consideration the masses of the individual sub atomic particles

Electrons have 0 atomic mass unit(their masses are negligible) we have no business here, Protons have a mass of

1.00727647 amu, while the mass of neutron is 1.0086654 amu

The mass of 15 protons is thus 15 * 1.00727647 = 15.10914705 amu

The mass of 11 neutrons is 11 * 1.0086654 =

11.0953194 amu

Adding this together, we have ; 11.0953194 + 15.10914705 = approximately 26.20 amu
